Thanks for these updates, guys. I'm still catching up with the action (about 3/4 of the way through Day 5 now), but don't mind the spoilers at all.

Just before the end of the day (yesterday, Sun.), David 'Doc' Sands was moved to play on the feature table (random draw) & ended up playing on the same table as his girlfriend! Pretty awesome for them to both go so deep in MnEv. but then to get on same table... even cooler. Would be really neat to see them both make it to the final table (at end of day they were both sitting on ~40bb's).

Bryan continued to do well, finishing in Top10 by the end of the day.
Nice Stack sir!! (does the dealer seem impressed?.. idk..)

anyone else notice that yesterday's "30min. delay" became more like 5-10min. delay (with the live stream). Should be starting up shortly for today!

don't know about that one....
Laborda (Spolier Alert) is the new chipleader, rivering a straight on an allin pre 6M flip vs. Stephane Albertini. How sick... Laborda has got to be the biggest fish I think I've ever seen go this deep in any tournament (defending blinds w 95o?... regularly calling 3bets OOP). Hope we see some of the others double thru this guy.... soon, lol.

Running out to the store now to grab a red bucket to support Devo FTW!!!

Rooting for Erika Moutinho and the Brazilian fish to finish 1-2, will create incredible new poker boom.

Biggest fish to go this deep has to be Jerry Yang.

From what I've heard, most of the players are really liking it. During breaks they have an opportunity to check out how others are playing, giving an added depth to the game, just for starters. As a viewer, I think this new method is superior--so much so that I hope this becomes the new model for poker broadcasts.

I am completely addicted to the live espn3 coverage. The only problem has been Helmuth. Tonight he was tilting me so hard I had to turn the sound off.

I haven't watched any of the live coverage so far this year (though I have seen some of the webcasts from previous years) but I'll be interested to see whether or not they maintain it purely based on the audience numbers - for hardcore fans like us I'm sure it's a great thing but it'll also be expensive to provide and for the vast majority of the viewing audience watching poker tournaments being played live is about as interesting as watching paint dry...

Lon has been great, esfandiari was great, that Oliver? was good too. Really enjoyed the commentary so far from everyone but Helmuth is horrid.

ESPN must be pretty disappointed, one of their best stories for the coverage is over - Sands and Moutinho both gone just before the final three tables were set.

So true!! Helmuth was just sooooo bad today it was tilting me listening to his commentary. Sure a hand can be played more ways than one but he is so contradictory & so full of bs at times it really spoils it having him on there imo. (could give a bunch of examples but will just send myself on tilt again... but here's one, same scenario as far as the two players stack sizes go.. earlier when PokerKaiser (or as Helmuth referred to him as, "that guy from chile") 3bai w JTs.. w ~15-17bb's) Phil says its AWFUL but when DocSands does it with same stack size simliar spot (but vs an EP tight player's raise) he says, "oh.. what a great shove there!" Then whle that hand's still in play, Helmuth sees initial raiser pondering the call & Helmuth says, "He must have a hand like AQ here... & he's considering folding. It'd be tough to make the call here with AQ!" Then the guy actually calls the shove with AJo & Helmuth sees both hands turned up & he says, "WoW what an obviously great call there with the AJo!!!" wtf? No doubt he'd have folded there himself & 1min. prior he's thinkin' AQ is a possible fold/tough call.
cliffs: sick of Helmuth

Yah I like this too. I think it's great! Not sure if all the players like(d) it though. Darcourt didn't seem to pleased about it at one point.

After initially liking the idea, I think I have to change my mind. From a very selfish POV, this will give too many younguns ideas which will severely clash with my notion of the game.

I like that there are few commercials, ESPN will be taking a bath until it airs the edited version, complete with a gazillion BigFoot commercials. You almost gotta figure every walked hand will be a commercial. I expect a lot of Viagra commercials too, with a new added warning about Viagra giving you the balls to be great......(rimshot).

The ESPN3 commentators are poor. Phil Helmuth has done a very good job being a commentator, as has Antonio. The late night commentators...are they the ESPN3 commentators?

Am I reading it right? Ukraine has already won 4(!) bracelets this summer, and now there is a Ukrainian on top of the leaderboard.

Where did that coutry come from?

So true. I loved listening to Antonio Esfandiari and Olivier Busquet. Olivier is surprising very well composed and easily tells information to the average poker player, and Antonio is one of my favorite players.

Hellmuth was just bad.

I really like the coverage.
Not seeing the hole cards makes me (as an observer) work a little harder to
figure out what the other players have.
The casual viewer may find all the walk hands boring but that is what real poker is all about,
NOT the edited Tuesday night shows on ESPN.

I hope they continue to do this in the future.

So much for that pairing ... ... ;)

The only thing I didn't care for was one of the hands when Erika and Doc Sands were sitting together at the table and Doc folded to Ericka and they whispered their hands to each other. They likely did as well at other times when they were whispering in each other's ear.

I still believe in the live table policy of "show one... show all". Select information should not be shared with select people. Too close to collusion for my comfort.
