I like 7 card stud

I think stud hi could be my game. I've found less ways of getting donked out than I do in NL. Stud also has the advantage of being able to see the 11-1 chasers especially if you're lucky enough to be sitting on 4 of a kind or a boat.

Like Omaha it's best to avoid hi/lo because many players see A2 as gold.

Anyway you may see me on Party playing it.

?????? The fact that people see a,2 as gold is the reason to play hi/low. You can make a lot of money of people chasing low draws.

This. When you have someone drawing to get their money back (since there's always a high, not always a low and if they win the low but not the high they just get their money back if it's you vs. them) you win a lot. Worst case scenario you get your money back and best case scenario (they miss their draw) you win the whole pot.

Unfortunately, in a multihanded pot where one person hits the low and bids the pot up aggressively, you can find that to keep in the hunt for the high you have to commit a large number of chips only to be beaten by aslightly better Hi hand. So compared to just the Hi game, Hi/Lo is more of a lottery.

i dont see how u get high low is like the lottery. if hi/low is like lotter then i mean u are playin cards so isnt it pretty much like playing the lottery? hi low just makes it more ways to win instead of just a hi hand.. i see nothing wrong with it. gl at the tables!

If your drawing to the high, you doing something wrong. You should only be entering the pot with a made starting high hand, such as kings or aces. Not likely to win by end of hand, but are likely to only need to hit 2 pair to win. The only other time is when drawing to a flush or straight where you are getting huge odds to call so it isnt a bad thing to chase

omaha hi/low cash is a pretty good way to make money i have found. play your high hands..... it's always a bad idea to just be in the pot cause you have a low. chances are you may have to split that low side of the pot if you do hit it. then your just losing money from there. play it like omaha hi, if you happen to hit low doing so, all the better. 7 stud hi/lo is a blast btw.... calling hi/lo a lottery is just odd. either way you go about it hi/lo stud or omaha either game is mainly a drawing game.

OK you guys aren't getting this - four hands say:

As2s...
Ac2c...
KsKc...
QcQd...

You have the Kings - first two hands raise aggresively pre-flop because they have the A2 gold hand

Flop comes 358.

You will find you have to call lots of raises because the A2's have made the low- the QQ stay with you and hit another Q on the river. Net result the A2 break even the QQ wins alot and you lose a lot.

Give me Omaha Hi everytime.

Hang on, i thought we were talking about stud hi/low, why have you suddenly changed to omaha hi/low.

In the hand you mentioned above, you shouldnt be stil lin with a pair of kings. All you have is a pair, fold it if you havnt hit your set. Also a2 is gold in omaha hi/low if combined with 2 other helper cards. a,2 hits nuts low more than any and can be very powerful with a 3,4 or 5 as it can provide multiple wheel draws maximizing scooping potential

I like 7 card stud also, but I only played it a couple of times. Can't seem to give up Hold'em, don't really know why.

Seven card stud is funny to play, but it have more to do with Lotto than with poker I think, there is not much to play with strategy than more with luck, but how I say, it's funny to play.

It has nothing to do with luck if played correctly over a long time. It is possibly hte poker game that relies on the least amount of luck

Holdem by far involes the greatest amount of random luck. If played correctly you rarely get beat by the final card in O/8 or Stud/8 like happens all the time in Holdem.
