They are not even available in mexico anymore. And apart from party and unibet basically everything is available here. And when they were available they asked for lots of personal infos in addition to the usual id and utility bill. They wanted my tax number and know about my occupation in mexico (lol) when i asked them what is necessary to sign-up.Congratulations with the rapid growth. Just a little sad that a site with "global" in its name is still not available in the vast majority of european countries
When i wrote them again to ask if this is really necessary and why they simply did not reply anymore (i was not rude or something). Way to threat a possible new customer 🤗
Imo they should change their name to wptlocal/wptbigbrother or something like that because this site is anything but global and i never came accross any poker site that was asking me for taxes documents or my occupation ever.

We're working on expanding our offering to other countries, and I'm sure we'll have some exciting news in the upcoming year, though it is not entirely up to us as far as timeline.

The documentation you were asked for does sound a bit much compared to our standard KYC; that being said, I don't know your personal situation, and we must make sure beyond doubt who each player is and that we follow AML Laws.

Hi. I never played a hand there and i dont even have an account there. So i highly doubt this had anything to do with my personal situation.
I always try to verify right after i register so there are no missunderstandings later when i try to withdraw. Thats why i asked support what is needed.

Will this be also standart in the future? Im really not willing to give a pokersite mit curp and rfc (points 3 and 4) and its none of their business what my occupation in mexico is (Point 5).

Wow I am surprised to hear that, we have iPoker still in Europe, they are a big network with plenty of skins. .
So I had to take another look, and they actually separated iPoker Europe from iPoker global and iPoker.It, even if it's the same player base.
So if you add them all together they are in 3rd place with 2415 (7 day avg)
Nevertheless, a great achievement by WPTG to become so successful in such a short time!

And illegal no matter what they write in their T&C, asking for such personal info is a violation of your privacy

Congratz! WPTG started 22 years ago & still <1% online players compared with the #1 site just established 10 years ago is not really impressive. Got to expand to the largest continent in the world to be called global & maybe gain a more respectable #online_players. Good luck.

They started only a few years ago with their pokersite. 22 years ago the brand WPT was established and their business was focused on their live tournament series.

We all get to choose (most of the time) what type of information we want to share and who we trust that information with, nothing illegal about it as long as that information is secured and remains private. Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer.

Well my fiancée is and according to her it is a violation of privacy and prohibited.
Ocassional malpractices are common among all pokerrooms because probably management doesn't want to pay for competetent consultation in law..
Or more likely, management doesn't care because they don't expect to be sued from any customer

We can agree to disagree on this, like I said im not a lawyer. As far as I know this is incorrect. With that being said, different countries will have different rules and requirements as well as the individuals personal situation. Perhaps in your country this is true.

"WPTG"is only 2 years old and already #3 and pushing up.
On a personal note, we work hard on building trust and respect with our players. Granted, we can't make everyone happy all the time, but we try our best to accommodate players' happiness and satisfaction. Quite a few players in this and other forums can attest to that fact.

It quickly became my favorite room... but you still need to make the software lighter and include some improvements that we suggested previously (native HUD, available hand history, etc.)

Not only in my country. For example...EU law is valid for all players from the Union and all pokerrooms are bound to follow EU law for all players who are EU citizens. (Maybe that's the reason half of Europe is excluded at WptGlobal 🤷🏼♂️ )
EU law would agree with this as well.
