Cool. ..... well if my 1st generation laptop can run stars and Skype at the same time then I'd be up for joining you all

This is my biggest problem with Skype I never keep it running only fire it up to use on request. It simply takes way too many resources to run. An IRC client on the other hand is very lightweight.

My friends helped me so play major tournaments. Skype conference we did, and analyzed the distribution and players, but only luck always put the last point)

This is such an awesome idea!
I'm sure you will all enjoy it and benefit from it.

I wish I could be part of the group - but I probably am not at the right poker knowledge level.

Good luck to you all!

I now have Skype and would be interested join to just read at first and learn from what you guys are discussing I want to modernize my game a bit and this sounds like a way to do that.

The times may not suit me I am GMT +10.

With that thinking you wont get to the next level, you've been playing with these guys for a while now let them teach you more if the time suits you, you're known around the forum which is one requirement, it's up to them though.

.

My participation would, for the most part, be limited to listening (reading) trying to understand and learn more. I think you kind of figure that from my earlier post and my level of insecurity.

Also thanks Zorba for the encouragement. :)

I am on Pacific Time - but I am round a lot - so I don't think it makes any big difference.

I'm definitely not in a position to judge that....however I doubt it to be true.
Tho....look at it this way.....if everyone were at the same level, what's to learn ?
I can learn...from better players, but for sure also from worse players.
Apart from push-fold and all-in/call situations, there's about no single hand which plays in just 1 single way.
A level 4 player will most likely have different ideas about how to play a hand than a level 2 player.
Still the input / thoughts about a hand from a level 2 player might be useful.

Suppose MoD , who is a strong player, describes how he plays a certain hand.
Strong player or not, what he thinks doesn't have to be 100 % correct.
Now a so-called bad player describes the same hand.
Bad player or not, what he thinks doesn't have to be 100 % incorrect....au contraire, occasionally he might even play it better than the strong player.

See where I'm going ?

Input like "I push AA preflop 100 % of the time" is useless, while pushing AA pre, deepstacked, could still be the best play in certain circumstances.
It's about the reasoning , the thinking behind how we play hands in a certain way , which makes it worth discussing.
It's the why-question and the answer to it what we're looking for, and it's the answer which most of the time is open to discussion, no matter how good the player who gave that answer (unless level-0 or level-1 thinking players).

Just an idea for you guys ...

I am watching the replay of the Millionaire Final - 6 seater sng.
I find it real fascinating - considering the pressure that the people are under - and they are basically random players (winners of flip) some rather interesting hands - I think.

The idea being - in case it is not clear - that some of you could watch some replays together and discuss hands as you see them unfold. Could be fun

I'm new to CC but many other members here can vogue for me. I would of course prefer to give them a HU on doing so too.

I have done some different types of groups and some one on one. From experience I can say first hand, "The teacher will learn as much as the student" so those who have interest should follow through and get with a group or start a 'starter's group'. One thing to keep in mind is that we as poker players tend to get off task :D So a theme or weekly syllabus for structure before hand is very helpful.

Hey guys! I've posted on this thread before, but I'm letting you know that I would really like to join the chat. You say you only accept active members? Well, how would I not be considered as active? I am the captain of the River Devils Spring League 2015 Team, and I am also a member of the CardsChat Freeroll Club. So, please allow me to join the MTT Skype Group. My Skype account username is JMVIndustry

I'll vouch for Kev. ;)
