This week GGPoker decided to take action against poker stables.

You can find information about this issue if you goole for a video called : Shocking Poker Ultimatum : GGPoker Does the unthinkable.

Interesting Information about RTA (return to players) inside.

Also there is a short news on Jan Peter Jachtmans site.

What do you think about poker stables and their influence on the poker economics.

Stables are cowards and cheats.

I have played against accounts that play every hour of the day without breaks and it is obvious when another person takes over.

They also switch to a HU specialist when only two players are left in an MTT.

The title of that video is pretty dumb, and it does not get much support in the comments either. There is nothing "shocking" or "unthinkable" about poker sites taking a stance against organised cheating. On the contrary this is, what any non cheating player wants them to do.

I think, its pretty ludicrous to claim, that stables benefit anyone except (perhaps) the people participating in them. So the only thing up for debate here is, where the line should be drawn? Poker players have always formed study groups and talked to each other, and even the hand analysis forum on a site like this is sharing of information, unless hands are posted without player names.

But for sure anything, which is against the rules, should not be tolerated, which include softplay, chipdumping, sharing hole card information, sharing accounts, multi-accounting, ghoasting or using RTA. And then it does not really matter, if people involved in such activities are part of a stable or not. But we also need to be realistic and accept, that there is no way for sites to detect all such cases. So if we want to play for really serious money, maybe we should look to live poker.

And I think this is done mainly on low and midstakes in the hope that noone will investigate at these stakes.
For highrollers(above $500 BI tournaments) who are a limited number of players such activities would be noticed much faster.

Not all forms of cheating are that easy to detect. Say a stable enters 5 members into a high roller. Then what prevents the leader/backer from ghosting, whoever of his "horses" might reach the final table? Or even take over their account, if they are playing from the same building? The truth of the matter is, that in online poker we never know 100%, who we are playing against, unless its a web-cam game or something.

Unfortunately, dishonest people are always present where money is circulating. We can only hope that the security services will crack down on foul play of all kinds.

Some of them even share notes. Its disgusting imo and i dont feel bad for them having their accounts banned.

Yes, I heard this news, well, what can I say I think they're doing the right thing by closing these stables so that other players can make money because it's the stables that make money on bad players that take the biggest profits in poker, and they constantly play every day 24/7 which an ordinary person can't do because sometimes you have to sleep for it. I'm for fair play
