I can not speak to the issue of ethical reasoning with regards to online poker legislation, but if you want to know whether or not money is pushing the legislation then all you need to consider is the legal ramifications. I have seen legislation (outside USA) where online poker is legal if licensed, but no where is the licensing method/procedure outlined. Meaning its illegal. Who benefits most from an online service becoming illegal?

I've always said.. The Government could put a dent in our country's debt by legalizing and regulating marijuana and online gambling.

Bumping thread with some current information in the fight against Adelson.

Article from NJPokerOnline by Steve Ruddock, "CSIG Back At It With a New Anti-Online Gambling Video Campaign"

"They’re back!

Everyone’s favorite bomb-throwing ex-politicians are back with not one… not two… not three… but four, count ‘em four, new videos condemning online gambling."

http://njpokeronline.net/3162/csig-a...gambling-push/

A good plug from former Rep. Ron Paul exposing Adelson's cronyism.

and info on the House declining a hearing on the RAWA federal ban legislation (but we are still vulnerable in the Senate and it possibly being inserted in must-pass legislation during this lame duck)

Not a very big one....

Easiest and most painless (though it would cause SOME pain) step the federal govt. could do right now to move towards bringing the debt back into OPTIMAL levels would be slashing the non-personnel areas of the Pentagon's budget. I am talking about REAL REDUCTIONS.....big ones where whole areas of our military would essentially be halved over a decade.

We don't need tonnes of battleships guys.....time to take a razor to that defense budget.
