I lived in NJ from 97' - 2010' and I know Governor C.C. very well. And I can promise you that he is about as incorruptible as a man can be.

From the years as a pit bull district attorney putting the most connected wiseguys around behind bars, in the face of constant death threats, this guy cannot be bought.

Bottom line, he will do what he believes is best for the people of NJ, of this I am sure.

I just hope the man can shed a few pounds and stay healthy enough to be President so we can all benifit from his Old School Values.

He's got my vote if he runs and makes this happen. I'm sure I've voted for worse reasons

The deal and been agreed to but not finalized. I'm sure they were waiting for the Governor to approve the OLP bill.

So, Gov. Christie waited until the deadline? Anyone else see the conditional veto as just another delay tactic?

Come on Chris Christie you would be a fool not to see all the revenue in online poker!!

Gotham - it passed, but the Governor vetoed it. So, not a done deal. Unless you have a link where Christie signed it?
From the link Debi posted.
A conditional veto means that Christie wants changes to the bill and for it to be sent back to him for signature. Lesniak said Christie’s conditions are “very minor.”

I'm in Texas and will get my luggage ready to make the move lol,I'ts amazing what people will do to be able to gamble.
Just yesterday I tried connecting through a vpn to play at ps ftp and either I did it wrong or something because when I tried to join a freeroll ps detected i was from USA:(

Anyone else successful trying the vpn thing?
I know that IF I get detected they can close my account, I only want it for freerolls.

I want to try it. I think you would need a computer set up in another country and connected to the internet. Then you would have to remote into that computer and would be playing on that computers internet connection. The poker software would be installed on the computer in the other country. I think it could be done using team viewer.

i really dont think that the big casino cares about poker n line since they dont make much on it anyway its more of a customer perk than a money maker compared to all the rest. gamblers they make their money off of most likely never go to the poker rooms.

But if they were to offer online poker they would make a ton of money. You are right about how they dont make a lot of money from live poker.

personally i think they would make tons of money from this... not only the rake from players online.. but i bet there would be an influx of pro players to NJ.. possibly ones that moved out of the country or ones from other states.. this would in turn bring more players to the actual casino..

If they also put the ability to earn rewards like comp rooms through online poker it would give people the chance to earn enough for a free room at home than take the trip to the casino they normally wouldnt

Myself I think this will be great.. in fact I think they will beat Neveada and be the first state to have online poker running... I also feel that this will get other states playing under pokerstars. I feel this will be like the mega lotto that several states opt in. I also think this will start by the end of the year.
I know it seems like this no way will happen.. but with pokerstars reputation and also desire and successful in other countries and catering to there tax structure. I would say this isnt impossible.

As long as the amended bill has all of his conditions met, wouldn't everyone expect Gov. Christie to sign it in immediately rather than let it ease through the deadline to pass?
