A good night of sleep and a good meal. If you like caffeine, you should take it, but not a lot. Enjoy your game and focus on the good spots. GLGL

There are really two points that help a lot....

Another thing I'm starting to like a lot is wearing headphones so I don't talk to anyone.. :)

And I avoid caffeine... not to accelerate too much... 🙃

These days, I'm working a lot and studying a lot for my Master's... so I can only play on weekends.

Almost every Saturday there's a 10K freeroll, so that's what I'll try to specialize in.

Before the ADD ON and late registration ends, the blinds are 20min. after the blinds time is 15min.

This time change impacts my game if I'm short, because I play the whole tournament FREE !!!!

One thing I identified.... I need to reach the end of the late with at least 90K chips....

Generally at this stage of the tournament the blinds are:
- SB: 1K
- BB: 2K
- ANTE: 2K

Remember to get enough rest before the game is very important, but also eating a healthy diet. These are games of endurance, so honestly like a runner, if you eat carbs the day before it can help with keeping up your energy.

Finally, I'm on vacation from my master's degree. Now take the opportunity to play the freerolls live, this Wednesday and Saturday. And try to show up more at the tables of our online tournaments...

My tips for live tournaments.

Arrive well in advance. You want to be in your seat when cards go in the air. Late registrants miss a lot of the bad players who give away their chips early. Also, if it is your first time at a casino or playing in some kind of tour like the wsop Circuit, you may have to register for a player's card first. Give yourself time to get all that taken care of and pay your buy-in.

Bring some snacks, like granola bars, crackers. Tournaments usually provide complementary waters or soft drinks. You don't want to get hungry while you're at the table. Playing hangry is not good.

Don't drink alcohol. I don't know why people drink impairing substances when playing a game that demands mental awareness. Give yourself the best chance to succeed. If you want to donk off some money while imbibing, then find a $1-$2 table and have at it.

When you are not in a hand, pay attention. Notice if a player always opens when it folds to him. Notice if a BB always 3-bets or defends. If a hand goes to showdown, take note of what the other players have, especially if someone opened in an early position. You want to see what kind of hands they are playing.

When you are in a hand, watch the players who are not in the hand. They will let their guard down and frequently react to the flop. For instance, I have seen lots of players either hang their head or lean back and look to the sky after a paired flop (say J-6-6). This almost always means they folded a 6. If you have a jack or a 6, this is very valuable info to have.

Yesterday I participated once again in the freeroll.
In the Freeroll I don't make buyins or addons, I only did it in 2 or 3 tournaments.
My goal is to learn how to be profitable in it... and grow in the game...
Everything in this tournament deviates from the standards we find online and in studies.
But I'm not going to give up, I'm going to learn to be profitable in it... at any "price"... lol...

Once again in the 5k freeroll that took place at the club next door this Thursday I was eliminated with several COOLERs

I'm thinking I need to make an adaptation in my game...

Let's test new strategies this Saturday.

But the club next door is temporarily closed...
I hope it is for expansion works....
But now we just have to wait...
Or go to the club which is 1 hour from home...

My latest strategy is not to play online for at least 24 hours before playing live so I go in fresh and rested and standard advice is to not drink alcohol while playing which I have mentioned before on this site.

You need to carefully prepare and develop your tactics. Remember, there are no good or bad cards in poker, but there are many effective ways to help you win the pot.

Yes, it's an excellent strategy.
I don't drink alcohol 🙏
I've liked this idea of going with a calm mind because the dynamics of the live game are very different from the online one, even because it's just one table that we're playing at... :)

Remembering this is always important because here in Rio, at least, I don't see much of the standard ranges online.
And playing in a well-defined way is more efficient and helps to escape distractions.

Today I had good news.

Soon the club I used to play at next door will reopen in the neighborhood next door... and I'll be back reporting on my poker journey live.

Because online poker has been very complicated. I have a lot of work and a lot of studies for my Master's degree, so I can't play in peace.

The good news is that this post of mine will be back soon....

The poker club should return this January....
Initially, the first tournament will theoretically be a Satilite (R$60) for the 100k Gtd tournament, which by the way, the Buy in is R$400, and is outside of my plans for live tournaments.

But I believe that after the inauguration they will return with Freerolls.

This time, I will post a follow-up of the evolution here.

The idea going forward is:
  • The only paid Tournament will be the opening tournament;
    • Eventually some cheap satellite, I can make an exception;
  • Play as many Freerolls as they have;

And so we will learn how to play live tournaments...

Looking forward to returning to this topic....

Let's go !!!

It is with the greatest happiness in the world that I would like to inform you that the live freerolls have started this week.

On Saturday or Sunday I will post here the details of my route for the first week.

This project is initially only for LIVE FREEROLL TOURNAMENTS and a maximum Buy In of R$60.00 (Brazilian currency-reais, at today's dollar exchange rate ± $12.20).

Along with the feedback from the tournaments, I will be reporting my expenses for the project.
  • Taxi, Bus or Metro ticket
  • Consumption during the game and buy ins

MAIN OBJECTIVE IS:
From FREEROLL tournaments, Build a Bankroll for LIVE TOURNAMENTS and, if possible, be able to WITHDRAW SOME MONEY.

AND THE PROJECT HAS BEEN STARTED, WE WILL SEE THE RESULTS AT THE END OF THE YEAR, MY CLOSING FORECAST IS ON THE LAST DAY OF THE YEAR.

LETS GOOOOO !!!!

And at some point in my life I will be recording all of this with a CARDSCHAT T-Shirt , Hoodie or Card Protector ... if not all the items... LoL

This is my dream !!!!

If not, I will personalize my items myself... lol

I decided that I will do the summary when I complete 10 games.

We are in 4 games.

All the games were a little chaotic, as I was still trying to readapt, after almost 8 months without thinking about live.

But the main thing has been adapting to the filed... because it's a public that pays a lot and anything, so I end up entering with some average hands down... and I've been losing chips unnecessarily.

Starting this coming Saturday, I'm starting to follow a line of trying to wait as long as possible and only play the really good hands... Very conservative, mainly because I'm on a big downswing and have achieved a bit of the mental part...

So, adjust your mind and start climbing the steps again....

Hello friends !!!

Today I'm coming to update my data regarding 2024.

It's been pretty tough... lots of COOLERS, BADS and lack of cards.

This year I have already played 16 FREEROLL LIVE tournaments... in a period of 94 days..

I haven't reached an ITM yet.

I'm trying to see and review my RANGES.

One point I noticed is that people there pay a lot, which helps me to be able to wait for good hands and play more aggressively.

The problem with this is that I'm often at risk of being eliminated.

The tournament is FREE entering the first BLINDS level, after this period there is BUYIN.

And you can enter with Double BUYIN and it has ADDON.

In other words, there is no problem paying, you pay double from the beginning.

Let's go to the BUY IN data:

1st Level of Blinds:
FREE - 10k chips;
DOUBLED - 10k(free) + 15k(buyin) + 5k(double entry bonus) = 30k

From the 2nd Blind Level:
Simple: 15k;
Double: 15k(Buyin) + 15k(Double) + 5k(Bonus)

Add on (When late registration ends):
- 40K chips;

My goal is not to make any BuyIns or spend anything, to keep the thought and energy of the FREE tournament...

Another objective is to reach the final late registration, in the range of 80K chips.

First stage, while there is Late Registration the Blinds are 20min, after 15min.

As far as preparing for the tournament, I've been doing very well: mentally, physically and eating/sleeping.

1714136197760

In the SPENDING column I am including expenses with transportation and/or snacks.

Just one tournament I tried to enter doubled, but it wasn't a good idea and I returned to the initial programming.

Anyone who can help me, confirm whether the correct word would be SPENDING, to be used for event expenses (transport, snacks and others)

Thank you very much and let's go....

I need to adapt to live because there people play in a way that can be well explored...

SEE YOU SOON !!!
