Whenever I'm in a bad downswing I just take a few days off to go fishing and it does the trick of clearing my mind.

It's variance.

Get up. Take a deep breath. If you are in your own head take a break. Its a game.

I am still working on that one myself. Just about damage control at that point. I also go all in preflop very little. Also important not to force all in when the board shows a dozen ways to bust ur AA. Most players insist they should win by forcing all in. Or do it out of fear that they r beat.

Also get a punching bag. I play a few feet away because it helps to unload the frustration on something.

If I recognize it in time then I stop playing and go back to start again after a few hours/days to see if I can variance back on my side.

quit while you can, turn off your computer take the day off go running or walk your dog. Or its going to continued. If you happen to have many bad beats you need to move on stop playing or change table don't let the program take you down survive don't stay while your been tackle down or you will loose everything. Don't you feel like that, like your been chase down pressure while the bad beats continue.

When I had a severe downswing I looked for free pokerr coaching and it helped my game so much that I dont even notice downswings anymore, its just part of the game.

Trust me, nothing grinds my gears more. But at the end of the day there's nothing I can do about it... luck is a major component and I know I've had my share of bad wins, so I accept it and try to move on.

I prefer to play a couple of micro tournaments and play like a fish, that way I calm down and then turn off the platform for a few days.

It is certain to take a break not to affect the mindset unfortunately I did not learn this lesson and these all time low I end up affecting my bankroll but we have the theory to put into practice.
We should at least change the style of play we do not by our hands to be going well we should maintain the same style of play

Take a break and be patient. Winning hands will return and you'll be on an upswing! Wins and loses happen in poker to everyone!

I am getting upset, then stop playing, go for work, take a break, listen to reggae music, and when I come back next day it is usually better.... until next time. Thank god we have Bob Marley and others :)

If I'm frustrated I will play a first person shooter game.
If I'm just sad I will see my family or my friends.
In the end I'm thankful to still be alive and I can always try again.

What you ussually do when you are in a downswing, loosing all-in with AA, KK, for 72off and stuff?
Do you blame the software or you consider the varience?

I say if this is going on it sounds to me like it could be rigged. I don't care what all these morons on here try to say that's just poker, because calling an all in with 72 off is not good poker playing. and to me doesn't sound like just dumb luck.
if you were winning money and now this is going on, I would stop playing where ever this is going on at for a while, and maybe for good.
it's not just once or twice now is it? they say the first time it happens shame on you, and the second time it's shame on me.. there are bad beats in poker as I am sure you are aware of, but if you have that feeling deep down in your gut that something isn't right, then by all means listen to it. that is the same gut feeling that helps you win at poker,
online poker is rigged, and every casino in the world is too. if it's online it would be even easier to rig. not saying you can't ever win. I mean people play the lotto every day and some people hit the lotto, but don't be so naive to think it's not rigged. Americas Cardroom was busted for it.
People seem to have forgotten about black friday and full tilt. the elections are rigged, news it most of the time Bull Chit as well. but most of the people here have no common sense. they won't open their minds up to think that maybe it is rigged. but why rig a poker site, aren't they making enough money already? why would they do that? because more money is what they are after, duh..if they let some donks win, they know those donks will be back to deposit more. they understand and know how addictive gambling is and want as many people hooked as possible. that is why drug dealers give away drugs some times and also the reason pimps get their girls hooked on dope. so don't think for one minute that casinos are looking out for your best interest. they are making fat stacks.
If you want to know your game is 100% fair then set up a home game.
I hope you read this and say, dang this guy has a lot of common sense.
and not like some of these hopeless morons who will be attacking me for being smart and logical. I wish you well my friend. good luck with your journey..Wildjoker68

Obviously it affects me like everyone else. In those moments of bad spells, I try to clear my mind doing other things. This way I get the bad drink.
I think one of the most important things that a poker player should have is knowing how to recover from difficult moments. Because if we just stay locked in our anger, this will have a very negative effect on the game of oneself. Since it will be fundamentally reduced in quality, because it will cost us more to think, decisions will be more biased, and everything will become more hostile.
It is hard to say but it is necessary to escape in those moments.
Because when we are angry we do not play well (the one who tells you that even in those cases he keeps playing well, he lies). We make mistakes, and sometimes we know that we are committing them and so we continue.
You have to clear your mind and everything will be easier when we are concentrated again, 100%
Greetings.

I do more HH research is about it. If nothing jumps out, then I'm making the right calls with the wrong results. Just play on until variance finds another person to suck the life out of.

Over Time, making the right calls in the right situations will pan out. Unfortunately this is poker and people are gonna suck out on you. It happens.

I never blame the software/dealers in those spots , whats the point ? But also I don't go on tilt and later downswing cause of few of those situations , it happens , its poker :) Most important , its profitable on long run , at least if you're the one holding AA/KK and so on ;)

But when I do experience downswing , I take a break from poker for a week or so , and focus on other things in life , or maybe read some books/watch some vids about poker to boost my confidence up again , and to get in there and show them who's the boss ;)

This is something normal in poker, I think maybe my opponent has a strong mentality and lucky... that's all.
