I'm happy to provide another hint. When I sent Lark my solution, I said, "They're going to get this one right away, especially if they think of who is the quizzer..."

This phrase is all too familiar to me, more so than most of the rest of you, but it isn't specific to me, and it doesn't have my name "Bear" in the answer.

But ooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmm isn't two words and doesn't start with a "B!!"

Is it Blind stealing.

.

No sir.

Hehe, Ommmmmm-mmmmmmm can be two words on a really relaxing day! :D But, no, it isn't Ommmmmm because that phrase would be unique to me, well at least at CC. Although Sir Charlie has really begun to really master it lately as well (watch out for him in next season hehe).

I feel Lark in the virtual corner, grinning broadly, counting her nonexistent wager...

HINT: A really great question to ask would be, "Bear, is the phrase specific to one poker variant?"

Why, yes, it is! This phrase is most often associated with one particular poker variant.

Sadly, even knowing this, and using all the power of google at my fingertips, I still have no idea!

"Best low" doesn't fit the last clue Horizon got.
"Buried pair" is a stud term.
"Bottom pair" isn't unique to Omaha.

Is it something like "best possible" referring to the best possible high or low hand?

No m'lady, it's not hand-specific.

To surmise, the Googleable phrase or the action related to the phrase is most often two words, B_______ __________, but if it were spoken, it can be spoken as three words (which would begin with different letters), or briefly as one word.

LOL! It's a good thing that I didn't bet her.

OK, a couple more hints.

You asked if it were related to Omaha? Yes. You could be more specific with that question to help with the solution.

This action, or phrase related to the action, happens more often to n00bs than to non-n00bs. For example, it happened quite often to Stephen a year ago when I met him... nowadays, not so much.

I just don't see how "forgetting that you have to use exactly two cards from your hand and 3 from the board" fits the description! :D

Is the variant Omaha/8?
