Indeed, Drinking affect the game and reading ability, but I noticed that two or three beers can really help me stay relaxed while playing. anyway from that day, i didn't drink and play expect for some low stakes when i want to have some fun

It is really a bad idea to drink while playing. On the other hand, if you are playing a low buy-in sng with your buddies then it is a ton of fun. Just make sure you don't get sucked into a cash game after the sng is over.

In darts, alcohol is considered a performance-enhancing drug allowing the players to relax. This might apply to poker aswell, but i dont because of my own health.

As someone who has played poker for nearly 50 years I have discovered a simple equation that I found is true every time I play poker :

Poker + alcohol = lose

It's as simple as that, but of course I can only talk from personal experience but it works for me every time I test it

From all my poker experience so far ... I have come to the conclusion that alcohol does not help. It's silly to play poker while you're drunk. The conclusion is that you can not think clearly.

You have the answer - they are alcoholics. At this stage of drinking you need alcohol to make your body and brain work at least partially normally. You can easily test this following way:

1. Drink heavily during the evening and the night
2. When you get in the morning with terrible headache drink one or 2 beers. You will feel better but in a few hours when the beers effect is gone you will be even worse than in the morning.

playing while drinking dulls the senses and can lead to bad decisions, you probably got lucky. Since you remember how you felt, you can play like that without drinks and mix up your game to throw others off.

Not the best idea to drink anything and play poker for a cash at the same time. If you was lucky one time, that doesn,t means, that it will happenes everytime. If you want to drink and play poker, try freerolls, at least you don,t loose anything.

I think that alcohol leads to the fact that you loose the game if your drink too much. On the other hand it helps to deminish stress -but you should not drink too much ( in general meaning)
