I would love the lifestyle they lead but i am by far not good enough to even try. I did knock out Doyle Brunsons son from an online tourny back at the old Doyles Room and got a cool $1000 for doing it but believe me it was all luck

Well this is my dream to make a living playing poker.I have long way to go.My first step is just paying my car payment from online play, havent even got there yet but i will.Once i build up my bankrolls enough im going to start going to cherokee or tunica and get in live games.I play every week in home games with friends of mine but its not that serious of a game. But without a doubt i will be playing against pros in the next few years, but that doesnt mean i will beat any .

Against amateurs I`m slightly above average so not good enough. And i don`t think i would handle variance and swings playing everyday.

In one session. Yes, you can beat a pro. You can be lucky on the 2nd time but as session progresses, you will not stand a chance.

Absolutely not! I could see me getting lucky and winning a few hands out of sheer hand strength or luck but that would be it. Maybe if I folded everything but QQ+ I could stand a chance but that is not how you play heads up! I just would give the pro free blinds.

Based on the fact I suck at heads up definitely not.

Definitely.

I can beat a pro if I have much much money or very rich backer.

We will use the "money gets money" strategy.

Hahaha. No. I would get felted in 10 min or less.

doubtful. i rely on a lot of luck haha!

Honestly, i dont know,
sometimes i think that i could and sometimes that i could not

LOL all great answers. I like how its either definitely or Not at all. lol not much middle ground. Me personally, Im not sure. I feel im good at poker, well after 10 or 12 years id hope im decent, but heads up is not my strong suite. I would try like hell and idk 50/50 i guess for me

Could be funny to try life as prof poker player. But I think my entire bankroll would be blinded out very fast.

In one session. Yes, you can beat a pro. You can be lucky on the 2nd time but as session progresses, you will not stand a chance.

Gus hansen was a "Poker Pro", too bad it cost him $20 million online...lots to look forward to as a cash game specialist.

Jason Somerville has created a Home Game Club on pokerstars for all his Run It Up fans. There was a HU tournament scheduled a couple of weeks back and I need the practice so I registered.

Who was my first opponent ? Jason Somerville !

This is like the first round of the FA Cup when a village from somewhere in Norfolk gets drawn against a top ten Premier League side (translate that to your own favourite sport in your own country).

Well I'm not sure how I did it but I won.

(Then I promptly lost to someone called william340)

Does this mean I can hold my own with pro players? Definitely not. Good fun though.

My understanding of a pro has always been; when this person reports their taxes on winnings. This does not mean they are successful winning players. This scenario, I would have no problem putting what ever money on the line that would make this definition of a pro uncomfortable. This scenario drives me to make that statement. If time before playing I would have the ability to research my opponent can the same be said for them in this situation.

However, if the question was aimed at star power of the pro's then absolutely no chance. I would not say that for certain; but to quote Lloyd Christmas "you say I have a chance"? Hope everyone's Friday is going well.

haha this topic reminds me of full tilt when they had the pros sign up and you get bountys for knockin em out. I remember playing rush mtt and tried to knock out Jeff Madsen.. But nope he beat me,... straight up.. but if i had a chance to be a pro. i would take it, and I would use that opportunity to network with other pros and get my foot in the door. I don't gotta be the greatest pro.. I think I would be happy knowing I reach that level of expertise. maybe in a few years.. lol

Yes, I think I could.

I think anyone can beat anybody at a given HU, because poker is a game of skill and luck.

I think no , to become pro must overcome so many factors and work 24/7 on your game.. But to earn in poker I will be able..

Ya of course. I could beat any of them on any given occasion. The short term luck element in poker is a beautiful thing. Since I am not a heads up specialist though I will probably lose to a lot of them in the long run.

It all depends on what mood you are and your pro opponent is. If you are not in the game and play in your best way you can't win against pro player.
