ONLINE VS CASINO I personally like casino's for hold em or blackjack...its something personal about it.Not to mention one doesn't seem to get alot of the bad beats like you do online. One reason for this i belive is you play way more hands online but thats just my opinion.Another thing is cashing out....i've heard some wild stories about cashing out on some sites...while i haven't had any probs myself i could tell you i would be highly pissed if it were to happen. My wife and i have this discussion all the time as she prefers online for the multi-table and the (pace) of online poker. Therefore i dare ask the question online or casino?

Sometimes bad stuff happens when you try to cash out online. Sometimes you get mugged on your way out of the casino after winning. Overall, some things are cooler about online and some are cooler about live. There's no right answer. But a lack of beats live is not a legitimate reason to prefer live.

I prefer live because I like the social aspect of the game and because the play is much looser. I had the mother of all bad beats in a live cash game a few days ago - flopped nut flush with all possible straight flushes blocked but A-5. Someone with pocket 3's hit a runner runner straight flush. I don't like the higher rake or the lack of game choices, though.

Sometimes you get mugged on your way out of the casino after winning. wow that happened to my brothers 2 friends, out here at bay 101 in san jose,ca. my bros friend went in with 1500 dollars each, they got lucky on the poker table and manage to turn it into 9500, then these pricks followed them home and right as they pulled into the drive way these 2 guys jump out wearing ski mask both had 45 cal. hang guns and robbed them of all there winnings, you know now to this day they will never play poker again, cant really blame them, personally after hearing that I told my bro if we go up and win big, dont worry I got a corvette motor with a racing transmission, which means on my way back home I will doing about 110 miles pers hour, at that rate of speed you will definitley know if someone is following you.

re: ONLINE VS CASINO poker Convenience is AMAZING with online poker, who doesn't love sitting in a nice seat drinkin a beer in ur boxers while playing a 3 dollar tournament!?!?! Although the fish live are amazing....and I realize that fish are everywhere online too, difference is the fish live have to play 200NL if they wanna play! I like 'em both, depends where I am and how I'm feelin.

Yeah, I prefer online for three reasons: (1) convenience/cheaper alcohol/TV/underwear: (2) much faster play/play more than one table at a time; and (3) I'm awful at hiding and reading tells, but pretty good at analyzing betting patterns. So online is the place for me. (Plus I can't run to the casino for a quick 1/2 hour poker session.)

Casino poker is the way to go! I like to play on line tournaments because of the huge pay outs, 26.00 35k Guarantee hard to beat. Still live cash game are great, I have cashed 1400 total profit in my last 3 sessions which is about 14 hours total. I think that making 100ph online playing 1/2 would be tough. No help programs live

I mix up both my online and live games. I try to get to the local casinos as much as possible and I have a once month live game (24-27 players). The social aspect of the live games can't be beat. I find it extremely hard to follow the chat windows, type a message and play my hand at the same time. I like to follow the action on the table (both live and online) Online poker is great for those late nights when you have nothing to do and want a quick 30-60 minutes of fun. Don't get me wrong I have made some very good friends online playing poker (here at CC and other places) and I enjoy playing online in friends private tourneys. All that being said, I'm still going to play online and I'm still going to go to the casino (Going to Vegas on the weekend of the 27th!!!)

I prefer live for the social fun of tlkin to ppl and the slow pace of the live game. It also feels good when ur doing well live n u got a huge stack of chips infront of ya to play around with Also love gettin waiterd on by fit women for drinks. Plus during the break of a live MTT u can have a quick look/play at blackjack our roulette. I love online poker too for the joy that i can sit in my boxers in a comfy chair, sippin a larger or smokin a jay to play micro MTT's. I also like the range of games too. Im becoming quite involved in PLO and they dont do any PLO at my local casino's. So over all both are neither better than each other and both need each other to promote in the poker world (eg online satelittes to live poker majour MTT's and live poker on TV bring the fish online to think they can play like ivey, who get knocked the f out haha), so play both and have fun!!

re: ONLINE VS CASINO poker Ugh, the social aspects of live can drive me nuts like when you have players that are more interested in chit chatting about nothing to do with poker or getting drunk and loud than playing the game. (Hummm guess I need to learn how to block those out) But to play in the big tourneys, it helps to have live experience.

I would say casino since you get more in contact with your adversary plus you see to whom your losing your money to... Plus online after bad beats or after anything it becomes to much of a video game then a game you play to win money. I would say put a time frame to play online because if not its a waste of time unless you have some strong restrain on gambling.

I've played online for over two years now and have never played eyeball to eyeball. A card room has opened not far from my home and a friend gave it a try - I'm going to give it a go after I buy some chips and make sure I don't look stupid messing with chips. Actually that is the only thing that bothers me - chip phobia.

Lately I've been real big into the live aspect of the game. House games with the every other week visit to the Seminole Casino or Dog Track. However I was at my friends house and my cousin owed me some money so he sent me $20 on my PokerStars account and I played with him in some micro stakes games. I forgot how much I absolutely LOVED the convenience of online poker. I have no internet at the moment so my desktop computer is collecting dust. Waiting on a check from the IRS and buying laptop + wireless card + reloadable prepaid card and making a deposit to start building up that bankroll. Right now been playing .01/.02 and .02/.05 at friends house but my God I forgot how much online poker ROCKED. Can't wait till I can be playing everyday from own sofa. Still plan to play live games, but who can argue getting home from work at midnight (my schedule), and playing a 3-4 hour session sippin beers in front of the tube in boxers. I love it.
