Isildur1 vs Daniel Cates superstars showdown 30th Jan

I think this superstars showdown will most likely be the most entertaining one as of yet! I think I'll be watching most of it starting this Sunday at 5:30pm ET. Four tables of 50/100. Daniel seems to run good at FT but I belive Isildurs aggression will be to much for Daniel to handle. I guess time will tell!

Anyones thoughts on the game or if you're watching would be good.

meh they were playing recently and jungleman was winning. they also played b4 isildur left ftp and jungleman was winning there too. expect jungleman to book another win.

I think Isildur1 will take this one, Cates is good but I think Isildur1 will be better. Is it 2 PLO/2NLH o 4NLH?

It's just NL $50/$100 which should be good.Kinda gets annoying when PLO is involved, I'm not a big fan

Yeh this is gonna be a great match then def the 2 best HUNL players should be longer though, but not as long as the durrr challenge

I think his durrr challenge is pritty much dead in the water to be honest. I can't see him accepting anymore challenges after his Patrik A and Daniels challenges are done (if ever) becase he is to involved in the poker live cash games now and does failry well there. I'm beggining to wonder if we will see durr playing much online anymore. He seems to be traveling the world most of the year with the other pros doing prop bets and so on.

I'm sure the daniel cates gam would of finished a long time ago if he had the choice, its Tom who seems to be the busy one more than anyone else.

ooooh? Who are you doing these bets with I'd like to have a bash somewhere. Not sure If I'd want to wager on cates though even if his record is better from matches with Viktor. What odds are these?

nobody so far accepted to bet 10$ on cates. so i am doing it with nobody, everyone is like "cates will win" and all that, but they won't risk 10$ for it.

That's why they play over a large number of hands. Im sure there are times where even we could run good against a pro for a short period of time.

However over the long haul I think we'd all find out the hard way why they are considered pros.

3betting hu to much vs a good postion player inflating the pot is bad.Didn't say i was better but i know what i'm seeing.

But why not? It is probably a lot easier and more profitable to be 3 betting a higher frequency than to be folding/ calling oop more often.

Disagree you have to "mix it up" and there times where it could be very profitable.I just don't see it at the volume he is doing it at vs this type of player is all.

You do realize that he is not 3 betting 100% and it is fairly balanced mix of raise call and fold right?

Just now watching again,i didn't watch no were near all the hands.What i did see when i was watching earlier though just quessing here it looked like 1\2-6\10 hands.

it finished just now, Isildur1 won with 51k lead after the 2500 hands.

too bad nobody wanted to bet 10$ on Cates, i would have made some easy money.

Quite a convincing win too in the end. I always thought and said isildur1 would win, yet everyone (most, on here) was convinced that cates would win because of their full tilt encounters.

I myself would of loved to of bet on isil but seen as you was only offering to bet on cates, kinda didn't make sense for me

Yeah shame we didn't get action, anyway was a good game!

Yeah, was a really interesting matchup.

In the beginning the match was more or less even, then Cates took a big lead, and everyone said that he was the best, and Blom didnt stand a chance.
I dont really know what happened after that, but all of a sudden Blom had a commanding lead, and was pretty much outplaying Cates.

What I liked was that 2500 hands is much more managable than 50,000 that the Durrrr Challenge consist of. Im not sure but I still dont think Durrr and Patrick ever did finish there challenge.

Sounded like a great match with the two biggest post being Isildur's King high flush against Cates Queen high flush (with the suited ace being in the community) and the other hand was the rivered straight of bloom's against the set for Cates.

Would love to see more of them two. They seem to be two of the best at head's up NLHE.

The best player probably won here, but I'm a little annoyed by the small number of hands played in these challenges. I would consider 10k hands of HU to also be too few, but it would be a start. 2500 is a joke.

I don't think its a joke. How long do you want these matches to take?

Do you want them to play for 2 days straight or something? If it was much more than 2500 hands they would need to break it up into multiple sessions, and the second session would be hard to get going.

I like this super star showdown better than durrr challenge..There hasent been any action in the durrr challenge in months at least isildur showdown finishes in a few hours.
