Famous Poker Hands Hi, I'm after information on famous poker hands played by famous players over the years. These can be from any era. Particularly interested in hands involving Stu Ungar, Phil Helmuth, Phil Ivey or Johnny Chan but also any 'huge' hand involving at least one famous player.

You do know that when Phil Helmuth won his ME, he defeated Johny Chan? Chan was 2 time defending champ at that point. Phil's black 9s were the hand that stopped Chan's shot at 3 in a row. Doyle Brunsonn won back to back MEs with the same hole cards on the last hand both years- 10-2os. |

Barry Greenstein named his book after the decisive hand from his the WPT Jack Binion title against Chip Reese and another lesser-known player - details are in the book, and no doubt online somewhere too (too lazy to dig them up right now too)

Famous hands Here are some books on famous hands that you might want to check out: 1.The Championship Table by Smith, McEvoy and Wheeler. 2.The Best Hand I Ever Played by Steve Rosenbloom. 3. My 50 Most Memorable Hands by Doyle Brunson (mentioned above by Emp). If you are interested in Ungar, check out One of a Kind by Nolan Dalla, and Hellmuth has written a book called Bad Beats and Lucky Draws that has some good stories in it. One last book: Aces and Kings by Kaplan and Reagan is a book of profiles of some of the top players.

one epic hand of note came in december of 2007's HU4rollz championship. vanquish's AJ offsuit met with chuckTs' AJ, suited in spades in a crucial preflop all-in. vanquish had chuckTs covered and was just looking to hold on. the flop came with a spade and two clubs. vanquish held a club in his hand to chuck's two spades, meaning each competitor now had an equal chance for a miracle backdoor flush! the turn came a black card... what was it.. a spade! chuckTs now held the lone chance to scoop the pot and vanquish grimaced hoping merely to hold him off and maintain his 2:1 chiplead. the river... OH MY GOD! OH MY ****ING GOD! HOLY ****ING SHIT A SPADE. CHUCK WINS WITH AN INCREDIBLE FLUSH. VANQUISH LOSES AND SUCKS
