Is PokerStars RIGGED?!

I've played at PokerStars quite a few times and have experienced some of the worst bad beats in my history of playing poker. It got to the point where it was just becoming ridiculous. So I went online and started searching and found that there are many players out there who feel the same way about the site. It seems like things always turn the other way for the person with the best hand after the flop when the turn and river cards come.

I just made this thread to get some opinions on this topic.

I forget where I read this but I believe Pokerstars apparently is the only online poker room whos code is actually checked by a 3rd party poker company to ensure there not scamming people to juice up pots to get bigger rakes for the company.

I have experienced all kind of crap there and have pulled my money completely off of the website. I cant tell you how many times I lost to runner runner 4th and 5th street less then 1 % chance of losing the hand. The bad thing is sometimes it would happen like 3 to 4 times a day. Also I got tired of getting dealt identical cards same suit in all back to back hands. Come on now that never happens but it happened to me alot. Maybe im Unlucky like the name applies here but I dont think anyone can be that damn unlucky. I could go on for days about that site but to make a long story short I think it is rigged for action not completely rigged.

Haha, seems like the people who have posted thus far share the same thoughts.

And for the guy (I think it was unlucky) who said he was getting dealt the same exact cards back to back, I read somewhere that someone got dealt J/2 27 times in a one table tournament. LOL, I think he said he was dealt J/2 like five times in a row.

So either:
1. The site hates you
or
2. You don't understand basic variance

They'll probably lock the thread...
The site doesn't hate you, and I don't understand basic variance either.

Dollars to donuts, ya had a bit of bad luck and either played poorly or ran up against fish who got lucky. Both things happen. I could be wrong, but I thought that was why we're supposed to try and use good bankroll management.

That came out wrong. I'm a fish too. Funny I think we're all fishes. It's just that some fish are bigger and tougher + more cunning than others. Oh to be a shark in a tankful of guppies. A girl can dream can't she?

so...a few bad beats here and there, you dealt the same hand a few times in a row, and you cant catch runner runner to save your life.

Yep...Pokerstars must be rigged. Game over. GGPO. Cashout now and delete your account.

On a serious note look at it this way:
Preflop no hand is a guaranteed winner. NONE. They only way your hand is a guaranteed winner 100% PF is if you're in the big blind and everyone folds to you.
Post flop, unless you have flopped the absolute nuts-and Im talking about the 'dont-waste-your-time-dealing-cuz-there-is-nothing-you-can-catch-to-win nuts, then there will be a chance you will lose the hand. Sometimes is a very big chance...maybe 50% or better. Maybe its a 1% chance you'll lose. Doesnt matter, as long as there is that chance...it'll happen.

It happens. It hurts. Take it like a (wo)man and move on.

I completely understand where you're coming from but it gets to a point where you are getting so unlucky everytime that there has to be something wrong. I'm talking where you have the best hand after the flop and people catch running cards to beat you; people who have a 5% chance or less of winning the pot and their win percentage for that type of situatuion is near 40%. I have played my share of real life games as well as online poker games and the shit I experienced at PokerStars would never happen in real life. The hands are unlikely and I strongly believe PokerStars is rigged for action.

I've had 3 days of losing in MTTS after at least cashing in several in a row....bad bad luck period.

OTOH, somewhere out there is a pro who claimed he was quitting cuz PokerStars was rigged...he stated this on his blog but took it down quickly....probably after realizing how silly he sounded.

Maybe pokerstars has more newbie, donks and/or bad players that don't know when to fold a bad hand and actually catch something on the turn or river.

I'm just goona put my word in it... i have lost wit some bad cards and yet i have pulled some stuff with less than 5% going to the river it happens. (Thats why you dont play high limits you stick with 1,2$ soo you dont lose alot to those bad beats)

It doesn't mean squat. By that logic, you'd also have to complain that the site was rigged if you got AA two hands running. And I don't see anybody starting topics complaining about that

Yes, pokerstars is rigged

And so are all of the other online sites, so please do one of two things
  1. Stop playing online poker
  2. Put up with the rigging

They are all rigged. They look around for who they can make win at the expense of others to really make them look silly. Fortuneately, they all have decided that having farm animals win is their best option.

exactly. I've gotten KK dealt to me two hands running. Today, i had AA then QQ(which someone played J-9o against me and i lost but still). I'm not complaining.

Im not whining I just question the shuffle process. I play alot of other sites and this has never happened to me once there only at pokerstars getting same hands back to back. None the less I now have another bankroll going there so I guess I cant complain after all.
