Special 1K post: Hold'em Manager Stat Guide So, I made it to my 1000th post and I, like some others before me, wanted to write up a little something(~30 pages, lol) to kind of thank the members of CardsChat. Since being a member here I have learned a ton and I feel like I have helped quite a few people too, but figured this is something that could help many. It is a poker tracking software stat guide(name Hold'em Manager Stat Guide because I use HEM, so the stats will be name for how they are in there, but they can be used for other tracking software's: Pokertracker3, Poker Office, etc.). For the most part it gives a breakdown of just what exactly each stat means, and I give some explanations of what some values will tell you about a player. Now I know that everyone has their own ideas for how they like their stats and what values they think each stat should be for a given read to be seen, so I would love to hear everyone's suggestions on any problems/changes you think should be made and I will give credit. I would like to have values for some more of the stats, but frankly I just don't use every single one, so don't have all of that data, so let me know and I will keep it updated both here and on my blog AbsolutHamm.com. It took forever writing all of this up, so I hope you all enjoy! Thanks again guys(and girls)!

re: Special 1K post: Hold'em Manager Stat Guide poker Haha, thanks Al and Patty. Like I said, I just couldn't thank CardsChat enough for everything here. Yea, that took me forever to write all that. Writing out all of the definitions was just exhausting, and then I really tried finding a lot of values that I didn't already have and then trying to come up with ways to explain certain things that are just automatically known in my head that if I see it on my HUD, then I do this or that.... kind of hard to put those in words.

One more question for you guys.... Which one is the best tracking software to purchase? And which is the best for your money? Last edited by Pokerstudent : 15th December 2009 at 4:26 AM. |

I would personally say Holdem Manager and I know in the recent past a lot of people who used to use PT3 switched to HEM because there are more options with it(IMO). Many people also say that HEM is more user friendly, and I guess in my opinion, I like the way HEM is set up more than PT3. With PT3, you can create your own stats, even though most players won't have to do this... They both have a micro stakes version that is cheaper than the full versions, Holdem Manager's being $55 and PokerTracker3's being $45 right now. They also both have Omaha options, only with PT3, it is a separate program, and it can cause a bunch of problems if you are trying to use and play both at the same time. Whereas HEM has the Omaha that is the same program and has the ability to play both holdem and omaha games at the same time without problems. They also both have trials, so the best way would probably be to install both and see what you like better.

Thank you for the present. Seriously, I have not givin any real thought as to playing with these "helpers". I had downloaded and tried a trial poker tracker a long while ago. It was just too confusing and I didn't get to even use it right, before the trial was over. I now with your help have a leg up on to how to use and what a lot of things are. That would have taken me a long time. I feel that after reading your article a few more times, I will be ready to download the trial and hopefully I will get the gist of it in time for xmas. That way I can get a gift that keeps on giving. lol Thanks for your very valuable post, I look forward to exploring more of what you have to offer. Happy holidays.

Congrats on the 1000th post (I just passed 200 myself, lol) and thanks for the guide. I just started using HEM about a month ago and know I could be getting a lot more out of it than I am. Im sure your guide will help me figure HEM out a little bit better. Thanks.

re: Special 1K post: Hold'em Manager Stat Guide poker So, it's been a week that the guide has been out, just wondering if anyone's noticed anything that they think should be added/changed. Eventually, I would love to have range values for each stat(but counting in at about 190 stat, it may take a while).
