10NL SnG. 10 handed
Blinds 20/40

Hero UTG with A7o

Hero raises 3x BB. ( I know, should have stayed out perhaps )

UTG+1 raises 5x BB.

Everyone folds to hero.

Hero calls. POT 230.

FLOP: Ac 8s 10d rainbow.

Hero checks.

Villain checks.

TURN: 5h

Hero bets 140 ( 2/3 of pot )

Villain calls. POT 510.

RIVER: 5s

Hero bets 250.

Villain calls. Shows KK.

Hero wins.

Apart from the fact that I should have stayed away from the pot with such a hand from such a position, anything you can do to improve the play?

Thanks :thrasher:

PS. If I were the villain, I would probably bet out after hero checks on turn. What'd you say?

Hero didn't check on turn. What advice do you want?

Poker needs players like this.

Why is a bet on the flop incorrect? Unless you suspect that the villain's slow playing. In which case I'd still bet out to see where I am stood.

You didn't bet the flop. What are you talking about? Villain has position, who is slow playing?

To be honest this is a terrible hand. You should have folded preflop, villain should have folded to an Ace but the it's a low call and you haven't included details on stack sizes. You should have played your kicker very carefully, villain calling your bets would usually indicate Ace and high kicker (K,Q,J)
