| Help Me with a Donk Bully There is a lady in a game I just started playing last week that is aggavating me to no end. (I won last week $350) But that is not the point. She is a bully. Here is what she does. Limps into the pot (every!)hand and never raises with anything. But you can't raise her out of a pot either, anything short of all in she will call, and most times then. Then she will wait to see the flop and steal the pot with extreme overbets. pot size and larger. You can not bluff her she will call with anything. I know the books say to just call her more with medium to strong hands, but doing so almost always will put you all in and there is no gauge of where she is at do to the fact she never raises starting hands and will always call a probe bets no matter how aggressive..........It also negates my position play against the tight players because she is in everyhand........ she just aggavates me. Help! |

| I play with a couple of players in live tourneys that are Super Aggressive. Position is everything in poker. Be patient and get you money in with the best hand. Being aggressive is a good thing. Build up chips and then sit back and coast to the final table. When an aggressive player plays almost every hand they are going to get lucky with two random cards often. Patients again is the key to beat these types of players. They also like to bluff on the river alot. Get the nutz on them and let them bet into you. You will build a nice pot. | re: Help Me with a Donk Bully poker - Sit to her right if possible. If there are a lot of mutiway cheap pots and she is overbetting and shoving postflop you want to see how the table reacts to those wacky overbets and shoves before you have to. - Set mine. Try to get in cheap preflop with small-mid pairs, hope to hit a set and take her stack. - Play generally straightforwardly preflop. - Avoid continuation betting unless you are willing to call the inevitable big raise. Instead, bet purely for value. There will be times when this can be frustrating and you feel like you're doing nothing but raise preflop with stuff like AQ, whiffing the flop and check-folding, but the payoff comes when you do hit a solid TP+ hand. |

And do everything you can to keep this player in the game - sounds like valuetown to me, especially if you're a winner against the other players. |

| this is the ultimate person you want at your game, so easy to trap. Sure it gets annoying at times but so does anything. If you're there to make some money quick you're better off at the craps table, grind it out, wait her out, and check raise her chips away |

| lol, what a stupid thread. I pay money to have programs find me this kind of player. Raise your good hands, and don't bluff, simple as that. If she always overbets to try and steal the pot, just check the nuts and then call her all in, easy money |

| re: Help Me with a Donk Bully poker Once again thanks everyone. I will be playing her again this weekend and I will definitely utilize this info. I am definitely a beggining player, however I have studied for about six months prior to playing, 12 books, internet research ect.. I won my first encounter with her by calling her all in bet with a bottom pair of fives. I was just convinced she was bluffing. This is an extremely soft game excluding her. All the players are tight nits, and as transparent as glass. They have no clue to poker tells. The old aggressive bag is the only one that I by chance have'nt gotten a read on. She smokes and I am curious if there are smokers tells? |
