Will Negreanu return to being "Canadian"?

Back in Nov , Stars had some Regional Championship of online poker.

All the marketing they do with Danny towards the Canadian market left me to believe that he would be playing in the "Canadian" tourneys.

But of coarse he didn't play any Canadian games, just the American ones.
Obv , He lives in the states. I get that.
But when the World Cup is running he is the Team Captain of Canada. I don't get that.

Why are they flip flopping on which Country he represents?

With everything going on with online poker right now , Do you think he will return to being "Canadian" ?

They market him whichever way they/he thinks will make the most money.
If it makes them/him more money, "you betcha!"

I am sure if you asked him he would tell you his a Canadian.

When your employer pays you a fair sum of cash, you say your from where ever they want.

i heared that american proficional players r going abroad untill the things calm down i dont blame Negreanu for leaving but he did make alot of money in tournrmnet in amerca he should and the other proes say something but we didnt hear from the most of them

It really has nothing to do with that.
The biggest reason for this because they are trying to make it like how they are in the olympics. It doesn't matter as much where you live but where you're from. Many pro NBA basketball players who live in the US year round will play for the respective countries that they were originally from to take pride in their nationality. I wouldn't really take offense that he doesn't play every little event up there.

Are the region tournaments for people who are in a particular country and are living there, so anyone living in the Uk&Ireland for example could play any of these, just like Isildiur1 can if he just decided to play in it.

The reason I think this is the case, is because we have a lots of Polish in our country (UK) who "live" here and work. I quite often play in a tournament which runs every evening calling the "UK&Ireland League" and there is a Pole who actually does play in this. Now I also know you have to have a designated UK&Ireland Address as well as "maybe" even an I.P address. Not 100% sure about the IP address as you can most likely play in a different country in a UK&Ireland tournament if you wished to and was on holiday.

Now the coop I think you're referring too which actually has people from the UK&Ireland who play it out for an online championship can also involve this Polish person because he does live in the UK. He has his address and banking details assigned here.

The world cup, like any other "national" game would be born&bread so to speak in terms of where you play. Obviously Daniel is a Canadian citizen and will always represent his country in this way, it would be very wrong for him to be able to play in a worldcup and actually play for America.

I think it goes of your address/banking details as to where you can and can't play for coop games yet for world cup and real "national" games - it's where you was born, or where you actually have your birth cert registered too.
