Will I play more hands on 1 heads up table or 6 6 handed tables

Let's just imagine everybody plays at the same speed. Which table(s) will i play more hands per hour? Please show the math so I can work it out for myself next time thanks

According to my copy of Math for Dummies, the HU table will produce more hands. I assume the imagining everyone plays at the same speed caveat is to help you arrive at the conclusion you desire?

1 HU table will probably deal 100 hands per hour. You'll probably actually play (VPIP) nearly 1/2 of them. or 50 hands.

Each 6-max table will deal ~60/hr or 360/hr over 6 tables. You'll probably play ~20% of them or 72 hands.

I always wonder when people tried to compare another type of poker with heads up. If your curious then that's one thing and triva knowledge is always a good way to impress the ladies. But on a strictly poker basis, it has no use what so ever. None at all.

So, is there any particular reason you asks this question Izaak?

Yeah I am more interested in why the question. Are you trying to play more hands? Or are you trying to learn the game and want some variety?

Umm, it doesn't typically work that way. That would assume you play HU as well as you play 6-max, with the same bb/100 winrate. For you to even ask this question leads me to the assumption that you're probably not a big winning player, so I'm highly doubtful you would sustain an equal or higher HU winrate since it generally requires more skill to play well. OTOH 6-tabling 6-max requires some decent skill to bring in a solid winrate too. I would choose which one you're best it, because it's doubtful that you're equally skilled at both (very few of us are). Also note that when multi-tabling, your bb/100 should drop but your bb/hour should increase enough to more than compensate. If not, then you're not prepared to be playing that many tables yet.

Now if what you call "more money" is clearing points and bonuses and RB faster, then maybe more hands = more money for you, but if you lose more playing the faster format then you're not doing yourself any favors.

You are right on point. More hands not equal to more money. You have to make money when you have the cards. That is the skill.

I would say 6 short hand tables. This actually is a pretty interesting question and it can benefit a rakeback player. But please dont assume you will make more money if you play more hands.
