| I have been using the Royals for about four years. I do poker tournies for some non-profits and we have 20 decks of these and rotate them every tourney. They are perfect and durable enough, not to mention cheap enough, if someone borrows a deck from you. Ive have no problems with fading or bending to the point of no return. I haven't even washed them in the four years we've used them. Just stick them back into their plastic tray and they're ready to go. |

Most players gravitate to plastic because it's cheaper in the long run. http://www.bicyclecards.com/products...php?page_id=30 |

| re: What is your favorite brand of plastic playing cards? poker Coming up playing cards in the Army me and a buddy for no apparent reason decided that a blue deck of Bicycle 808's couldn't be beat. Greatest cards on earth we decided. Then two years ago at Christmas, my mom got me a couple decks of copags. Wow, what had i been missing. They are the coolest thing since sliced bread. But a blue deck of bicycle 808's still make me feel squishy inside. |

| One of the only issues I have found with using an expensive deck such as KEM is the "fresh only deck players". In my usual cash game 2 of the players insist on a fresh deck being opened in full view before our game starts. Annoying as hell. |

| Ive used bicycle for forever because its all I could find at the local Pharmacy but now that Im playing poker alot more Ive found some KEM cards and although I havent had them long enough to really know how long they last it seems like a great deck of cards. |

Ban them. Or keep a couple paper decks around just for them. |

I always appreciate your informative posts and have in fact relied on your recommendation in ordering Fourniers (can't wait). Modianos are my favorites. Copags are good but I wouldn't buy them anymore because of bleeding problems and the company's refusal to replace them. I'm also looking forward to the desjgn and the Bicycle Prestige. Stud Kings are still available but are no longer such a bargain. Company website refers to two quality levels. Are you still using them and have you tried their DURA card? Your AK post should be enshrined. CardsChat should have their software kick it up every time one of those idiot AK threads get started. You should write a book, and all it would have to be is that one page, because you pretty much say it all. Gary Last edited by glworden : 3rd April 2009 at 4:41 PM. |

| You should add NTP's and Fournier's to the list. IMO the newer KEM's(not the same quality as the originals) and the Copag which are just KEM knockoffs are to thin and flimsey to deal with on a large poker table. I have a 96" 10 seater and you need a card with some meat on it to chuck it from one end of the table to the other.(with speedcloth) I have around 50 decks of cards of mixed brands and my favorites are the Gemaco's, NTP's and Modiano's. I like the Dal Negro's but have had them crack or break more then any other card. I even bought a set of the high dollar acetate's and they didn't last very long before cracking up the middle or losing a corner. I think the Dal Negro's are actually too thick. The NTP's are very nice cards they have a very nice jumbo index and are actually textured which keeps them easy to shuffle. I help host a 60ish person tourney once a month and the cards we use are the Modiano Elements. They get put to the test every tourney and have been flawless. We used to use the Desjgn cards and they also didn't have any problems but we wanted a larger index and they only offer their standard size(that may have changed) which is larger then normal standard but not quite jumbo. |

| re: What is your favorite brand of plastic playing cards? poker We ran a 4 color, 4 pip, SI group buy on chiptalk.net a while ago which used modianos, and they turned out great. Trident Cards was also trying to put together a group buy for a bunch of Fournier playing cards, if they ever get printed I'm sure they'll be outstanding. |
