Question on how they know who's US players? My daughter actually asked me this, what is it that says I'm a US player? I know we put in our address and such but what if you move? or are in the military moving all over seas? Is it all just from my address? why can't I change it to my uncles in peru or something?

If you have ever deposited or withdrawn from the sites, they have your residence on file. It's an easy database filter to block you out. Yeah, they can filter by IP address too, but most of it will not be on your personal IP, but the home area of the ISP that is in the BGP peering database. You "could" have your uncle in Peru do it, but you would have to file a change of address/residency with the poker site, which includes proving that you actually live where you say you do.

Your IP address is what tells them where you are. I am in the UK and when I was on holiday in the USA in November I could not log onto some of the site we use in the UK which do not allow USA players. There are ways to hide your IP address but I am not sure how legal this is.

re: Question on how they know who's US players? poker Ya,and if your ip address changes, the site can assume somebody comprimised your account and lock it... ps,on saturday,i opened up pokerstars and went to the cashier,I only had a little over $50,in there, but I tried to request $50 of it....and it went thru actually.!!!..so just maybe,I might recieve the funds.....
