Pokerstars Updates

Everytime I open Stars I get a pop up saying that there is a new update. Is anyone else getting this? This has been going on for quite some time. I don't think they are updating that much. Anyone know what I can do to get rid of this?

Im getting the same but no actual download!

There is a application in your pokerstars folder called PokerStarsUpdate. It should update you to the absolutely latest and greatest.........

mines fine too, about every 12 to 16 days i get an update, it downloads and alls ok,, buck

No problems here. Occassional updates only.

mines working fine also. sometimes get a update evrey few weeks or so

Mine updates every time I open Stars. Got no clue as to why.

They do modify things to make it run more efficiently or as they add new features which often I don't notice. Sometimes it's just for the photo changes at the bottom of the main menu/lobby.

If you want it to avoid checking for updates, there is both a PokerStars.exe file and a PokerStarsUpdate.exe file. I believe the PokerStars.exe file avoids checking for updates, so you won't have to put up with downloading (nothing) every time.

Haven't seen it on my system and I've been off and on Stars from 8am on. I had that same problem with Bodog yesterday though, would say there was an update, download something, then nothing.

As long as PS still works for you why bother? If it's a serious update you won't be given a choice whether or not to take it.

I'm on every day and only get the 2 or 3 times a month updates, usually mid-week.

My Bodog would update every time I'd open it, but my Stars only updates every few weeks or so.

I suppose you could e-mail support BBB and see what they say, they may have a suggestion.

I'm getting 1-2 a week, but not every time.
