Poker Books.. (Top 5 in order of preference)

Quick poll /survey here please.
Can you post what you'd consider to be the top 5 books on poker today.
I'm talking about books geared for those who are already say an intermediate player (although most players have the tendancy to 'believe' that they are better than they actually are,.. ie. "I can easily play as good as the guys on TV!"... sure ya can, lol,.. that's why they're on TV and you're just sitting at home watching it). The more I learn,.. the more I realize how much I didn't know, lol.

Hold'em wisdom for all players, by Daniel Negreanu is at the top of my pile right now and I highly recommend it to all players.

This question makes not sense. What game/variation you are playing, level of expertise of the reader, and many other considerations have to go into recommendations.

for MTT i prefere Harrington on Hold`em I and II two very good books about tournamentpoker

1) Killer Poker online 2 - John Vorhaus
2) Winning at Low Limit Holdem - Lee Jones
3) Holdem Poker - Gary Carson (first book I ever read)
4) Harrington series (I know it's 3 books but it's my list)
5) The Big Deal - Anthony Holden (not an educational book as such but a great read)

1) Super System 1

2) No limit holdem secrets

3) Harrington on holdem.

They stated the level of expertise - intermediate.

1. "Harrington On Holdem" Vol 1
2. "Harrington On Holdem" Vol 2
3. "Killer Poker Online" - Vorhaus's first one
4. "Killer Poker Online" - His second one
5. "Killer Poker Shorthanded" - His other one.

The first two are essential reading for the tournament player - recommending these two is a no-brainer - they are The Bible of Tournament Poker.

The next three are written in an informal, relaxed style and talk a bit about the psychology involved - but are fine reads and should help the intermediate player improve.

"The Theory Of Poker" by Sklansky and "Super System" by Brunson are also always recommended. With the former I personally got kinda bogged down by all the maths; with the latter, I found the methods advocated to be just too damn aggressive for my style.

Both offer great insights however and I'm glad I have them in my collection.

Tons of books I could put on a list of > 'Don't bother reading themn' (but that'll be next year's Christmas gift.... hint.. Phil Helmuth's books are up there near the top).
