New bankroll, what should i do... ive made my 1st deposit in months on a poker site, i deposited 60 dollars on the paddypower ipoker site, im an average player, but never stick to bankroll management really. if i win some i usually move up a few levels, and go bust. what would be the best advice to build my bankroll up would building it to 2/300 be a bit optimistic for 2 months? i have been playin for a few years but never win in the end because i dont stick to any strategy for playing cash/sng's or bank roll management strategy. any one else in the same situation or was, and have gotten out of it and become a winning player? any help is appreciated, thanks guys

re: New bankroll, what should i do... poker Thats not criticism, take it as you will. I could come and tell you all sorts of stuff, but really it would be useless. Stop thinking you need to turn 60 into 300 in the next two months and start trying to play better poker. Before anyone can realistically tell you anything we would need to know what you like to play / are best at. But in general. 1. Stick to 1 type of game. 2. Play the lowest limits. 3. Read/study and review hands. Don't worry about short term profits, worry about making the correct plays. Last edited by suit2please : 13th December 2010 at 11:22 PM.

re: New bankroll, what should i do... poker thanks suittoplease that was alot more helpful, sorry for snapping at ya my bullets just got cracked by AK grrrr... i play cash mostly, maybe that is not my best game, would you recommend playing small sng's and starting from scratch learning the basics again?

I'm of course bias as to the answer to this question because I play SnGs. I believe SnGs are easier to learn and provide more hands for less money/risk. Others might say the opposite. Whatever you choose to play stick to it. So if its the 9 person NLHE SnGs you choose thats it, no 6max no cash games no MTSNGs. But if you would rather be playing ring, then sticking to ring would probably be better for you in the long run, as they are 2 completely different games.

Sounds like you have no confidence or patience in your game midgetfactory. As for building a bankroll set an amount not a time limit before moving up in levels. When moving up levels move up one at a time. If you lose 5 buy ins in a row move back down a level and grind your bk roll back up don't let pride get in your way. Always play your A game, make the rite moves in the long run you will come out ahead.
