| NEED HELP ASAP Alrite so not an emergency but I need some serious TILT advice. Been playing on Stars for over a year now and in this time I've played roughly 15,000 games. Over that period average ROI between 7-11% (on probably 70% single table SnG 30% MTT return). So with that in mind I assume I'm a decent player taking advantage of lesser players at lower stakes. (If you play low or micro anything you've probably run into me). Here's the problem: Over my last 1000-1500 games I've dropped drastically. My ROI for those days is about -25%....... I'm playing the same stakes, same games, same TA style of play. My question is how can a consistent winning player have such a tremendous drop over such an extended time period? It seems the only time I get Kings is when Stars deals out Aces to another guy. When I get Aces I get called by some donk with Q3 and he hits runner runner on me. Pretty much the best way to beat me over this run is to play a hand where I have you dominated 70/30 or > and let pokerstars even it out for you. PLEASE some TILT advice....Motivation.....anything but more calls with rags, backdoor flushes and 3 outters. Any regs, pros, or semi-pros lend a hand because this shark is drowning..... |

| take a 2 weeks break, or something. it worked for me and as far as i know others have done it too. i took a 2 week break when i hit a downswing, after a few days i was burning inside to play, but i didn't. when i finally come back, every time i got bad beat it just didn't seem to matter because i knew things would even out, so i just kept playing until variance kicked in and i came out as a winner. |

| I'll be the negative nelly in the group and say that you aren't experienced enough in the game of poker. Many players do well in the beginning of their poker life and assume they have the game under control only to realize the surface of the game is only being scratched. The ONLY thing (imo) that can help overcome time on the table is HEAVY studying of the game via books and forums--and then that only helps a little. Give yourself time. All the comments above are spot on imo, but realize that you are just not experienced enough in the game yet. With time you'll realize that 'bad beats' and 'an Ace shows every time I have KK', is a crock and only part of the game. It happens--variance, and going on tilt won't change that fact. Learn the game more, and tilt won't factor into your bad play as much. Good luck. |

| This is bound to happen sometime. Every poker player goes on a bad run, sometimes a week, a month and sometimes longer. Take a look at your hand history and find the leaks in your game. Are you playing too many hands? Betting too much? Not enough? Are you too aggressive and chasing hands? Are you letting others re-raise you and folding good hands? Find out what you are doing (or not doing) that is weakening your game and change it. Most importantly BE HONEST with yourself. Too many players think they are better than they really are and refuse to change their game. As someone else said, take a break. Do something else that makes you happy, see a movie, go out for dinner, take a hike but leave the tables for a bit. Hope this helps |

| noob could not have summed it up any better variance is a bitch and the downswing of yer variance right now may also have you on tilt. a little break for a week or so would also b a great idea let the tilt work its way out of you cus you cant play right when on tilt so you just keep losing and puttin yerself on a heavier tilt |

| re: Poker & NEED HELP ASAP Ask Dusty (Leatherass in the well)... he is not happy either recently. Poker to me is like fire. A nice cooking fire to smoke the fish is fine, but throw a cooler on it and then smoke gets in your eyes... move away upwind for a while and wait... Its harder on pros like Dusty who have to grind their way through thick and thin. You can take a break. |

| I'm thinking take a break, will do your game good, for me I was on a roll for about 6 months seemed like everything was falling my way, I was being patient playing high percentage hands, and wasn't getting donked on,then the bottom fell out no mattter what site I played on the same thing, pretty much the same thing your going thru, I got pocket A's he calls with 7-2 and hits a full house I cut down on playing for a month and a half, I'd play maybe once or twice a week for ten or 15 minutes just to see how my play was but it took about that long for my game to change back, now I'm finally getting my confidence back and my bankroll |

Not sure what stakes you're playing when you say 'micros'? Is that the $1's? ... the $3's.. 5's.. 10's?? I find I've been more profitable in $10 sng's than the <$5 . If you're stuck at playing lowest buyins maybe switch over to ring game for awhile. |

i'm not saying he was outplayed... i suggested he find a game that doesnt cause tilt as much as poker can....or maybe shortstack so losses are smaller |
