The Mighty 84 off suit

Hahaha, was watching the EPT the other night and guess what hand popped up in the final two of the final table? Guess also which hand won the final two of the final table? Yes, 84 os. Johanssen won the Barcelona leg with 84 os all-in!

Actually amazing.

Lol, I always fold 84o, unless of course im in the blinds. I have never won with it, but have lost to it many times. I keep hearing about the immortal hand and I am afraid of it. I know if i start betting with it i'll lose my shirt.
But I do however keep track of it at the tables I sit at, just to see what happens when playing it, the times I've had it in my hand after flop, I've had to fold because nothing became of it. I guess I could bluff with it.

Yeah kinda the same. Ive went all in PF in freerolls etc and NEVER won with it! Hahaha. However ive used the 'ghost cards' thing on PP and ive seen that if id stuck it out id have hit trips alot of the times ive folded with it. Sods law really!

However, I told my buddy Scott about it and hes a pretty reckless player anyway. He gets it in the first hand of a live tourney in Perth. He goes all in pre flop thinking everone will fold. He gets called by two people. One has AA the other has JJ. Hes laughing his head off because hes so dominated! He actually hit a straight on the flop and the other two were blanks!

Was one of the funniest things ive ever seen. To be fair, we were both pretty drunk aswell!

Well it finally happened, I was tired and just felt like calling 84os with smallest stack 2 people after big blind. I just got a gut feeling and did it all in 10+1 S&G voila 8 8 2 on flop he was all in as well, cards turned over he had 8 2 I almost died. I couldn't believe it. RIVER CARD 4 OMG.

You know, I'm not sure all this talk about 84o is a good idea... every time I see it now I want to play the damn hand, even with other folks raising around me!

I've resisted the temptation so far, but I feel it's only a matter of time...
