The "loose table"

I read on a blog in CC that if the table is very loose to just do the opposite. My problem that I come across is knowing exactly what hands to raise . At this game people may go all in pre flop for 100 plus (1/2 game) with 3 dollars in the pot and get many calls! I have stop raising many hands and it's been working but now I need to know what to raise? I'm still kinda nervous to raise with anything that's not KK or AA.

What kind of hands are people making these bets and calls with? Are they happy to get in with any ace, suited cards, any pair, KJ type hands or are they literally just shoving and crossing their fingers with any two cards every hand?

The idea is to look at the range of hands you're likely to be up against and then get your money in with hands that perform well / have good equity against that range. At a guess if they're shoving wide for 50BB you should at least be calling them with JJ+ / AK and probably somewhat wider than that depending on exactly how they're playing. Then just be prepared for the swings and be prepared to rebuy.

If the table is real loose don't raise. You may scare off a bluffer who will raise if you call but will fold most times if you raise.

This sort of table you want to absolutely limp from UTG or 2nd position with big pairs and then re-raise once one of these morons raises.....a loose passive sort of table is to me a much better sort of table because you can often get away cheaper in hands where you do not connect on the flop and can see more flops cheaper. In this case you don't want to try the limp raise but instead just play as you normally would, raise 5-6 times BB with your A-K and when the flop comes K-5-2 the two guys with K-3 and K-8 who called 14$ pre-flop in a 1-2 game call you all the way to the river.....I do not like tables with too many loose players and generally leave the table if 7 or 8 guys are playing loose because its very hard to win if there are that many people calling everything and making moves....2, 3 or 4 guys is manageable. The other issue that often comes up at these tables is that the normally tighter players begin playing crazy which is the absolute worst thing you can do at a LAG table, unfortunately the natural tendency of most people is to actually do what the table is doing and not the opposite which is what any poker pro would tell you, you SHOULD do. The same occurs at a rock tight table, many times players who tend somewhat looser start to tighten up a bit which is IMO even worse than a rock starting to play loose at a crazy table.
