| It's a shame I did a quick browse at the "where do you play" thread and see that a majority of the posts were made by those who were probably just looking for a password, it's a shame that they didn't take the time to take advantage of all this site has to offer. As most of you had probably read, that was the main reason I came to this site (password), and now I'm hooked 4-life, it's a great place to learn the finer points of poker and the other members are great. Thanks for allowing me to stay, greatly appreciated....... |

| I have to agree with you, shinedown. But, on the flip side, and I know that this will sound harsh, but we don't necessarily want every single FR password seeker to stick around. In reality, most of them have no intention of sticking around or giving the site (or its great members) a chance. It's new members like you who come here, look around, give it a chance, ask question, post replies, and generally try to become part of the community that we want to stick around. The fact that you took the time to do those things (regardless of what brought you here in the first place) and gave it all a chance is what got you hooked. The typical FR password seeker isn't really interested in poker as a skill. They are simply looking for somewhere else to donk it up to see if they can suck their way out to a couple bucks and go on about how great they are when they crack AA with 72os because they don't know any better. Those are the ones that I say are free to go. Take a look at the membership listing and sort it by post count in ascending order. All those 1, 2, 3, posts and gone. That really is a shame, because in reality they could probably use the most help if they are interested in getting it. We here aren't perfect, but the general intent, IMO, is to help each other get better. Anyway, I'm rambling now for no good reason except that you gave me something to go on about. BTW...we're glad you stayed. Last edited by Jack Daniels : 6th September 2006 at 6:22 AM. |

I am slowly moving from asking for advice to being able to give some out, it just takes time. Keep on posting whatever you are comfortable with. I have nothing to back this up but its seems there are more people hanging around lately, not taking off after 3 posts and a password. This is good. |
