I'll be gone for awhile

Well, today I had an experience I've never had before.

Had me a lil poker bender. I played about 3300 hands of rush today. And while the jury is still out on if it's profitable for me or not here's the thing.

I had school work I was supposed to be doing. Up to this point I had no trouble putting poker aside so I went and did the smart thing and banned myself from playing from my active sites until after school.

In addition I am temporarily self banning myself from here. Sad as it is. I shall be back however. I'm just far too busy with other things to actively engage in poker as a hobby.

So do me a favour.
If anyone sees me lurking or posting slap me. Least until summer.

I shall miss you all.

Why not play the weekends ?

Same problem here. Have 2 assignments that are to be handed in today. Was supposed to do them last night but decided I'd play poker instead. Went deep in the $3 $4k gtd multi entry but not deep enough. Finished 14th for ~$38.

Anyone wanna write a report on the subject of their choice for me? Or finish off the brochure I gotta do in MS Office Publisher... I'll ship ya $10 on tilt lol

Best of luck to you, The discipline will help you to control your destiny. If you don't have the discipline to only play when you can afford to then you are much better off to not play at all.

it can be tough to balance school with any recreational activities. i am currently enrolled half time. i constantly procrastinate my assignments to play poker.

3300 hands and ending up completely even is amazing in its randomness.

I'm taking the GMAT Saturday morning. On one hand, I don't really think I'm still going to get a lot out of continuing to do practice problems. I know what I know at this point. So I feel like playing a tourney tonight or something for a breather. But I also wonder if I shouldn't just plow through a couple more nights and then I'll be done with it.

Truly, I think stepping away from the books before the test is the way to go. I seem to always have good success giving the brain a breather just before needing it. But I still wonder.

Of course, I'd use my brain in a tourney I would hope. But I'd use it differently, so it's not quite the same.
