Full Tilt Color Coding System

Hey Guys, I subscribed to a video series from http://www.cardschat.com/f53/mr-marty-smith-95804/ (http://www.cardschat.com/f53/mr-marty-smith-95804/) and he introduced a color coding system that you can use on players and identify them as certain animals.
it is based on phil hellmuth's creature guide from one of hellmuth's books (not sure which one). basically there is a certain color to go along with a certain creature. Each creature has a description as well..

on full tilt you can use this color guide to keep track of your opponents and identify which types of players you are up against

Here is the Guide:

Mouse: book player, tight, plays little pots but comes out fighting for the cheese with the goods.

Elephant: passive, plays too many hands, calls often, raises much less, hard to bluff, flush and ace masters, calling stations.

Lion: tricky, knows position play and odds, experienced, mixes it up, online semi-pro, aggressive pre flop.

Jackyl: maniacal player, raises with lots of hands, little regard for position, pressure plays, creates victims.

Eagle: pro player that morphs into any other style given the situation, will scoop your stack and tilt you.

Monkey: sub-human poker player that simply doesn't know any better, newbie, unbluffable, dense.

these can easily be used by going to the notes section for each player, and choosing their color
the color system is also cool because it stores all of your information you have on each player and the color stays on the player

let me know what you think and if there are any suggestions that you may have?

and also in Phil Helmuth`s Texas Holdem.

Good old PH has basically only written one book, but his publishers have switched the chapters around, renamed it, and reissued it several times.

I've tried this for a while, and I noticed the color and notes I make only stay on that player for the tournament session I'm in. It would be nice if they stayed there until I changed or removed them, but everything resets when a new tournament begins.

Is there a way to make these notes permanent?

im not quite sure what you are talking about, to my knowlege they are permanent

i have played tournaments and color coded people, then see them months later in a different tournament with the color i gave them, are you sure you are saving them correctly?

I don't know. I'm hitting "save and exit" but I wonder if there is another setting. I've always wondered why they weren't permanent.

On a side note, I do notice that people I mute for whatever reason stay muted permanently... I just noticed the notes and colors reset.

Thanks, I'll check it out!

i have notes on a friend that says "COMPLETE DONK" and i marked him purple, even though he has made considerably more money than me.

Maybe you have your firewall too high, like excluding cookies, etc. The data is saved on my computer under C:/program files/Full Tilt Poker/pigpen02.dat. If Full Tilt Poker couldn't get to that file, the fine player **cough(fish)cough** data couldn't be saved.

If you want detailed mumbo jumbo, try this: Select Control Panel. Select Internet Options. Select Privacy tab at the top. This is where you set access by other programs. I have mine set to "Medium".

It`s a useful way of thinking about the opponents, IMO, and I found it instructive when I first read it.
