| I rarely show (execpt sometimes in private games) because I figure that giving out info for free is -EV. The good opponents will catch up on the betting pattern you played with that hand and note it and the bad opponents ... well they aren't important in this scenario hehe. I turn off auto muck just to have the option in the rare case I want to show. |

| I always have auto-muck on. It's best to keep your opponent guessing. When an opponent shows me a bluff, I usually just laugh and congratulate them on a well executed play. Never become tilted simply because somebody has shown you a bluff. When people show their cards, it is almost always an attempt to manipulate your perception of them in order to set up future plays. I often regard the cards shown as a bit of a reverse tell. |

| I sometimes show when everybody folds around to me in the BB and I have a monster hand such as AA or KK, but I don't do it as a way of manipulating perception of me. I wish that I knew how to set Pokerstars up to automatically muck, I have FT set to muck automatically. |

some places tho have rules to say you have to show both, so then I rarely show anything, like online, where I rarely show, unless I think it can be of benefit to me. Auto-mucking is better because it speeds things up and you don't have to wait for players to decide what they want to show. I like showing one because it doesn't give much away, but really messes with people and gets them thinking, which is brain power taken away from decision making. |

These guys dont realize a lot I guess, but its such a pissoff to waste the time when some idiot has auto muck off and ignores the show/muck option............ And auto muck anyway............... show (and tell) is for elementary level |

You have checked 'Muck Losing Hands' which is one such situation Have you checked 'Don't Show Winning Hand' which is the other. Your hand will still be shown if it goes to showdown, but you will not be prompted to show if everyone folds to you (after you raise for example) |

| I will 'show' in tournaments occassionally but 'it depends'. I'll do it in a number of different situations. (more often with donkeys on the tables... never when playing vs what I consider to be good players & as mentioned > 'for a number of reasons in a handful of different situations') |

| i went thru a stretch where if i was running good in a cash game, i would show that i had it to help create the illusion that i was just carding really well it was fun, playing aggressively, showing cards, winning but, overall, i absolutely agree that if u r showing for any other reason than "for fun" or as a very occasional courtesy to another player u respect, then it is probably a bad move long term |

| Auto-muck always. One less thing for your opponent to read. If you don't have to show, best to keep your opponents guessing. Showing enough hands will make it easier for better players to read you. They don't need to know what you have. I feel the same about saying what you had at all, even if you've folded at any level. I get mad when I have to show when I'm in a showdown, even if I have the winning hand. Any hand in which your opponents know what you have or had will give experienced players something to work with. |

| I will show occasionally in private games or when I feel it was a "good hand". I also will occasionally show in free-rolls and in smaller buy-in tourneys if somebody gets a bad beat on me simply to show that I had a solid hand and not that I was chasing a rabbit or something. (Extreme example: Straight flush V. Royal flush. Again, extreme example.) |

Why is it that there are players out there that feel like they have to prove to their table that they know how to play well. Better that they think you are a donk and catch them with their pants down. If people think you're intimidating the pots get smaller whenever you are in and you'll find it tougher to take down monster pots |
