Using HH and HEM to review play

I was strictly a tourney player for 2 years. Now I have switched to cash (read a lot about this from belgosuisse, and lol, he was right) and I am happy with the switch.

I am actually doing ok, 5nl, 10 tabling, had a terrible run today, and know a few hads where I spewed, but how can I use HEM to find out where my leaks are? I guess there are some videos but maybe you all can give me some tips on how to review my play.

I had a good system with MTT and STT, but that was reviewing entire games looking at blind levels etc. I am a bit lost at how to begin in cash. I know there are HEM filters but never used them for cash.

I look at my big loss hands and replay them, and right there see that I am spewing a lot, and I look at my big win hands as well to see if I got it in good or got lucky, but there are so many other hands.

I know when I 3 bet I mainly fold to aggression unless I am strong. I am sure there are a lot of other exploitable areas in my play.

I have read "dont bluff" in the micros, and I am seeing that is right..... Tried a couple of big over shoves today that cost me......

Have a look at pots where you have lost between like 15-40bb, these are usually areas where people leak money without even realising, may not be huge mistakes but can point out areas that need work. Like cbetting bad boards and being c/r'd, barreling bad turn cards etc etc, all those little $1-1.50 loses start to add up and most of the time theyre quite easy to plug.

Put up stats as well after like 10k hands, by position mostly as people can then look at how much you are stealing from CO BTN & SB, and how your playing back at steals.

I could do with doing some more review myself nowadays, but my usual routine is big pots won and lost looking for where i could get more value in pots won and where i made a mistake in pots lost, and then look at the smaller pots like i said, write down some things that are standing out and keep them in mind the nex time you play and review, i.e. tonight i review my session and see that i lost about 90bb cbetting flops and giving up turns or being raised off, tomorrow then i can play with a bit of focus and concentrate a bit more when cbetting, try and put people on better ranges etc etc

I highly recommend using their Leak Buster application. It's going to save you a lot of time and will definitely point out leaks that you are unaware of. Just make sure, as with any DB analysis, that you have a large enough sample size. Leak Buster recommends 50K.

I've found that it can be helpful to play a smaller number of tables, which gives me a second or two before each action to ask myself if I'd do the same thing while playing more tables. Most of the time, I would, but some of the occasions when I wouldn't can be interesting and instructive.

As for not bluffing, that's too general. C-bets, which are a form of bluff, work fine against certain players, so it's a matter of identifying appropriate targets. Big bluff shoving doesn't always work very well, perhaps because micro players who use this play want to think others do so as well.
