UltimateBet is Hideous

I just have to say that the only time I play on UltimateBet is for the Cardschat freeroll, and the interface there is terrible.

It is extremely hard for me to believe that people who's living involves creating and running a poker site couldn't do a better job.

Does anyone else find this interface hard to use and the tables just not pleasant to look at?

i totally agree, it is horrid imo and lacks ALOT compared to other sites

I know how you feel. I don't play UltimateBet but I do play a few sites for the freerolls and I can't stand the graphics. Seems like every minute is excruciating and I end up going all in with rags just to end the boredom.

If you have a HUD I suppose this really doesn't matter, but when you have no stats or avatars all the chairs look the same (because they are). It just makes it so boring to watch and I think it just makes it harder to pay attention to the table.

Hence the reason I am browsing every post in the Cardschat forum and posting stupid threads like this to pass the time before I bubble in the Freeroll.

I agree the interface makes it boring to play. The sitngo registration is horrific. I only play CC events there.

Being a graphics designer, my first impression of Ultimate bet was that it looked "cheap". Really just white font over a chair? Thats the best layout they could come up with?

But my BIGGEST complaint is that when you open another window over it, say your email, it doesn't make any sound or popup to let you know its your turn. Every other site pops up beeps, something! I constantly have to open it to see where whether I'm up. So I sometimes take too long because I didn't realize it was my turn yet, and sometimes I miss the hand completely. And all I wanted to do was check my friggin inbox!

I think this acounts for much of the slow play there.

One plus? the miniview, but same issues as above even with it.

Sidenote, I thought the Ultimatebet commercial showing Phil Helmuth multitasking at like three tables and in his email at the same time was hilarious, because UB is the worst site for this type of multitasking.

BTW, If this is just me experiencing this someone please tell me.

I also think UB is plain at best.. but i have met a few good players there... it got me here. So at least one good refferal!!!

On the main interface (or in your table) click on the "options" tab. Click on "table" then look under the "behavior" category. Click on the options for "popup table on turn" and "force table to front" so that check marks appear next to both. Click apply then click okay. This should fix it although I myself have these turned off.

What HE said! Me suffering with CRS I can never remember what I had! And the other sites I play at--PS-FT-Carbon, you can see what you had!

I still don't like UB, but now my tournament time there will be more enjoyable.

I agree also with the folded card thing that evryone else gripes about as well.

I think the look and table actions are about on par with Full Tilt. Hand history is terrible.

I'm only familiar with the software specifics for Stars and FT. Seeing the cards you had on Stars is OK (they just added it recently) since the board or 'street' cards ARE the cards that would have been dealt. The order of the deal is from a preset 52 card deck.

On FT, it's really a deceiving option. The cards you see on the board or in following streets are NOT the cards you would have seen as the hand plays out.

If you could rabbit hunt on Stars, the result would be accurate. On FT, a rabbit hunt would be pointless and inaccurate.

Ult layout is different (in regards to the OP) but I haven't played there enough to form a solid opinion, but I don't like what I've seen so far. Looks like a billion dollar company running five-n-dime software.

I love to play at UB.It might just be me but I hate avatars.UB just looks like a regular brick and mortar table as opposed to the goofy avatar thing.They do have a poor sng set up and some quirks but overall I like it.Also if you don't like the "Aruba" look of the tables you can go into the options and change the way your table appears.There are actually some pretty cool options.

Its not just that, there are times when tment play stops and it will take 2 or 3 min. to get play started again. i get so sick of playing on UB. I never play there anymore. Guess it fits that they have Hellmuth as the face of their site

I personally don't mind playing at UB. I don't even really pay attention to what the tables look like. I also find the competition to be a little easier. I do wish they would let me see my cards I have folded though.

The interface may not be a clean as FT or PS, but I do like the hand replayer option that they have.

the proble I have is after 20 hands or so you have to wait for tables to break down. on the first one its about two minuts. i dont like the gong on start of game. they need an extreme make over.

For me there are some good features and some not than good. For example everytime I`m late for a tourney it`s hard to find it quickly as on other poker rooms. Much more to improve.

I agree 100%. I downloaded it along time ago, took a look at the tables, and i think i thought something was wrong with my eyes. Its not very eye appealing at all. The animation of the tables are ugly, like they were sketched up in 15 minutes. I love FTP and PS because they please my eyes. Needless to say i got rid of UB.

I dont mind UB's software, i joined a new poker club that uses their software too. But their r alot of donks on UB. If the buttons and such r hard for u to use , u might want to change ur computers resolution , that will make everything bigger.

Ultimatebet is my favorite site although Fulltilt is growing on me. I am still way over my head at Pokerstars. For instance, I required help today because I couldn't find the HU tournament I was scheduled for in the Guys V Gals event. Seems to me a cash game should be much easier to locate. If it was at either of the other two sites I would have located it without any assistance. The only recommendation for Pokerstars for me is that I am able to use the CC avatar. I wish the other sites would allow it.

lol, also remember this was the stupendous site that continued to deny the superuser business even after the majority of the players who played that high pretty much had conclusively proven it (the guy was playing in some of the highest games on the internet and had like 90% won at showdown with crazy stats seeing like 80% of flops, calling down with T high and being good against a bluff by 9 high). Of course the super-user thing didn't affect most (all?) people here, but you're dealing with the same support and such. They chose to lie to protect their bottom line (finally gave in after everyone knew and basically they were going to lose business without doing something). Meanwhile sites like Stars and Tilt pay out to people based on collusion without the people not even knowing they were colluded against until they get the money. Hmm, which site do I trust more with my cash?

That said, I can understand where especially low limit or tournament players would play on UB, I just see no upside to playing cash there and a few definite downsides.

Anyone understand this quote??? I never liked UB, never deposited there and never won there. Till I played the CC games that are donkless. Personally, I don't care if the graphics are crappy, I'd rather win on a graphically crap site, than lose on one that makes me feel like I'm actually in a B&M casino. As for PKR, it may be the only poker site where the dealer actually "burns" a card, but hell is it slow and takes up tons of room on ur comp.

I totally agree with you 100%, but I've seen alot worser looking sites, duplicate poker, action poker, just to name and I could go on and on, so U.B is none the less butt ugly, but compared to those 2 you U.B is the best looking one ever

UB is made ugly on purpose... Hellmuth being ugly, he wanted to look good, compared to his site .......
