pokerstars and mac
I've noticed people comment about not being able to play at Poker Stars with their macs. This morning it showed the download available for them when I logged on.

YES this is correct they now have a beta version available for mac.

key word here is BETA
there will be some serious problems with it that hopefully will be corrected later but this is a step in right direction, im not 100% sure but i think it is for real money |

The beta version is PLAY MONEY ONLY
once all the bugs are worked out the .com version... real money will be released. Probably in a couple months. I've played the .net version on my mac and it works real good. |

FINALLY - PokerStars were really behind the game here (unusual). Doesn't affect me with a PC but a load of my mac friends are rejoicing.

No idea -- not familiar with Macs. It's a big monitor with a wireless keyboard and mouse but no other accessories.

Pokerstars.net has troubles registering user accounts from certain countries, presumably because of the address set up. I live in Japan, and it took me a few days and countless e-mails with support (none of which were very informative, accurate, or helpful) before I realized that I just had to leave the address out completely or it wouldn't let sign up.
Problem was not mac-specific, I got the same exact symptoms and error message when I did it from my PC, though Pokerstars.net support staff came up with some pretty interesting theories. jm |

Getting there
The Mac beta is for play money only. However, the more Mac players show and interest, beta-test, and provide feedback the better our chances of having a final release for real money play.

If you go to pokerstars.net and download the mac version it will be play money only. If you go to pokerstars.com and download the mac version, it will be for real money.
You can play real money on the mac version, just have to make sure you are using the right one. |
