Sooooooo with that said, it looks like I'm finally getting rakeback! I actually gave up on that and just last night was like hey I'm going to just say f-it and play on FTP anyway .

No I didn't do anything.... kind of sucks though I just accepted the promotion and this is what it states:

Your Cash Back Bonus period runs from 00:00 ET on 5 November, 2010 to 23:59 ET on 2 December, 2010 .

You will be able to keep track of your earnings here once your Cash Back Bonus period has begun.

Your current bonus period is due to expire at 23:59ET on 2 December, 2010. To extend your bonus, earn 1000 Full Tilt Points before your current bonus period expires and your bonus period will be extended to 30 December, 2010.

So now I don't know what it is for sure...

Well 1 good thing is that 1K points in a month is nothing so you should be able to extend it through the end of the year at least. Maybe it will be a perpetual thing where you need to keep getting 1k points to keep the bonus rolling?

Yeah that is what I am thinking. You can get your rakeback every time and it gets extended if you get 1000k points? I guess we will find out!! Now I'm debating what I want to do because my plan was to start drinking out some SnG's.... but I'm not sure yet.

I'd def. email FTP and ask about it going forward beyond the end of the year. I know they have been saying they were looking for something to give back to those with a non-rb affiliate so I guess maybe this is it or at least a test for something that could be it.

I got this tonight too. Unfortunately I accepted it and have the same timeframe that you do - only I have to earn 2000 points in order to keep it.

I could normally do that - but it is not likely this month since I will be in Vegas for 10 days.

I guess they did the number of points based on the level you normally play because several on 2+2 had up to 4K / month.

Yea - that is probably what I averaged the 2 months I played there full time. Unfortunately it was quite a grind to get that many for me - and losing 10 days will kill me.

The timing is such a shame lol. I sooooooooooo could have done this after Vegas.

Well I know that FT is always trying to help out it's players, but the rakeback that I have pays weather you play a lot or a little. If you only make $.40 of your rake they pay it to your Fulltilt account on Friday. I don't see rakeback as an incentive if you have to make 1000 FTP's eack month to get it. JMHO

It is not rakeback. It is a cash bonus that is the equivalent of rakeback.

Well you do have 1 thing in your favor, points accrue faster now. It's now 10/$1 in tourney fees instead of 7. So you got that goin' for you which is nice.

I want to know if this is worth messing with. Of course the "equal to 27%" part is as good as rakeback, but am I losing much by not getting rake races and such?

I think it depends on the volume. I'm currently multitabling 6max 25nl with roughly 300FTP earned a day, and I'm still nowhere near rakebackpros' standings.

If it's cash then this is effectively FTP giving you rakeback - it's exactly the same thing

Yea - was surprised to see I got 60 points for playing 6 $11 sng's - so played 12 more and have 180 points so far. If I can not get killed by the $11's I might be able to do this.

It is straight cash paid once a week - with the exact same deductions as rakeback. So yea it is essentially identical to getting rakeback.

Congratz I got the same bonus. I'm gonna start playin at FTP again because of this bonus lol. I almost deleted the software to strictly play at pokerstars to work on my vip status and then I got this bonus. I'm also signed up with a non-rakeback affiliate.

Interesting in that they are sort of offering their own rakeback, but what kind of volume do you need to keep that bonus going every month(1000 points)? Anyone know a site that offers a FT points calculator?

Don't know of any FTP point calc but what game/stakes are you currently playing?

I actually did a little investigating on the last time I logged 100 points via Iron Man Section and saw that playing 4-5 tables of .05/.10 for 2.5 hrs generates around 100 points, though the recent change in how they calculate FTPoints might have changed with all of the Black Card stuff. I am going to do a session and see how many I generate. My only question is whether this is actually worth it to stop doing cash at pokerstars or not.

Probably worth switching to FTP unless you're getting to the high end platinum+ levels, which I highly doubt you are playing 10nl.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it is essentially identical to getting rakeback.

Rakeback is paid out regardless of the amount of play has in any given week or month. This other program requires players to earn 1,000 FTP a month in order to get it for another month. If your a regular grinder, it is not alot of points, but for low volume/recreational players, it is alot. It'd be a little over $100 just in rake/tourney fees, of which a player will get roughly $27 back.

I'd agree that it is better then nothing for players who signed up thru an affiliate, but it is hardly the same thing as rakeback.

Right - it is noted throughout the thread that you have a point requirement - that is the only difference. However those required points are determined by your past playing history so a low volume rec player would have a very low requirement.

Grinders would just need to grind at their previous rate. The issue for me is that I was previously playing $11 sng's at FT and they based it on that. So my requirement is too high. I had dropped to the $5.50's and gone back to Pokerstars. If they had made my requirement 1000 pts instead of 2000 then I would never have a problem. But now I have been forced to go back to the $11's. And in a month where I travel -which is a lot of them - it really makes it difficult.

You can re-qualify if you don't make it but I am not sure if they will lower your qualification points or not.

So I have to decide today if I want to keep trying to make it in November or not after losing 10 days of playing.

Cash games ftw!!! You can do 1000 points in like 3000 - 3500 50nl hands.

probably a good thing if like alot of people, when they first signed up for a poker site they had never heard of rakeback.

Suppose it depends what the levels are, if based on your previous points earned and its your regular site then looks like a great deal .

If it was based on my points would only have to earn about 100 points a month LOL , but it doesnt appear on my promotions page

Would encourage me to play more on Full Tilt though
