Easy $5 on Pokerstars

Hey guys, just thought I'd let you know there's a "Summer Games '08 - USA - Limit Hold'em Qualifier" freeroll starting in about 15 minutes on stars. Pays $5 to top 250 & right now there are only about 220 entered. I'm sure it will break 250 by the time it starts (8:30pm EST), but should be pretty easy to grind it to a quick $5. Can't see this one, how do I get to it, I've got all tourneys with no filter on.

I think you've got to click on the regional button.

Its under the "Tourney" tab, then under the "Regional". Its open to US and Canadian players.

Yes it's was really easy to win $5, but the final is beginning.

I would have to agree with mparker876 and SelligDrager. I played in one of those tournaments last week and came in 64 out of around 900. You just have to win a couple hands and you can pretty much sit out the rest of the game and still make the money.

they are running it every week till october. different game each week. with pokerstars normally massive fields, the idea of playing with roughly a 1000 people and the top 250 getting paid is kind of like a banana....very appealing.

I am going to try the 8:30 7 card stud, i have never played stud online this outta be fun, lol

i think these freerolls will be going on for some time they are through freerollarmy.com ad they start everyday at 8 830 10 and 1030 and the game changes every couple of days

No, they are sponsored by Pokerstars as part of their "2008 Summer Games" promotion. The game changes every week, and all pokerstars members from the US or Canada are eligible to play in one game a week. Top 50 move on to round 2 (seperate game for each event) & top 10 in round 2 move on to round 3. Round 3 is a heads up game w/ 10 Americans vs 10 Canadians. Can't wait to get in on the Stud tourney.

What he said! It WAS fun! I wasn't sure if I'd remember HOW to play 7-stud! But it was like riding a bike!And, YUP, I was able to win $5--missed the qualifier by about 53 or so, but next week is yet ANOTHER different variation of poker to play--and that goes on until October when the finals are played.

Missed it by 7 dammit.

Played the stud tourney last night, missed cashing by about 15 spots. Had a straight on 5th st and my villain hit his flush on 7th.

I got my $5 last night in a stud game.

I finished around 75th last nite...won my $5..YAY!! and got taken out by a bigger boat..that sux.

I played in todays Stud tournament at 5 PM PST, had about 700 people registered but late registration pushed it to over 750. I didn't win a single hand in that tournament but I still ended up in the money (around 220), I got really lucky since I had to bring in about 5-7 times total during the entire game and the only things eating at my chipstack were the antes. It took about 45 mins to get into the money, so overall, very easy money

Each week's round 1 runs from Friday - Thursday. You can only enter 1 per week. I played my week 1(LHE) on Wednesday and my week 2 (7 Card Stud) on Tuesday. I entered the 2030 tourney each time. In both cases there were sitters that made the top 250 and cashed for $5. I cahed both times (I didn't sit out). Week 1 I made the top 50 and qualified for Round 2. In round 2 I finished 70th and added another $20.

So far in this series I have cashed for $30 by just playing really tight poker (and not trying anything spectacular.)

I read your info too late...where did you find this? Was it regular freehold or special or satellite? Is this everyday?

Trust me...This is the easiest 5 dollars you will earn on pokerstars. Take advantage of it and play!!!

all right. 35 minutes in we're already down to 250. Just 541 started. Definitely the easiest $5 i've made on PokerStars.

I'm in 123rd, so i've got a shot at finishing in the top 50

A few days back my aces were no good against J 2, lol. Nice event pokerstars is putting on though.

Thanks for the bump on this one, I had completely missed it the first time around.

Looks like they're running PL Draw and PL Holdem starting tonight. Since there are two different types of games, can we win $5 at each or do we have to choose one or the other this week?

Also the $3,000 freerolls tomorrow are for joining the PPA as a free member. I'm sure the fields will be big, but you're supposed to be limited to one event only as it's a drive to increase membership in the PPA.

Yea, the $3000 you can only join one of the 4, so pick wisely.
Also, for the Summer games, i just found out about them today, wish i had realized earlier, as i think you can only enter into one game per week (one of each type), i already missed 4, but im surely going to try hard in these last 2, as pokerstars has been hardest site for me to build up a bankroll in.
