Nice interview!
The sound quality is a little low, not using the128 kbps... But that is not what is important...
Some good advice, not all will work for me. I would crash fast if I played five tables at once.

Nick, actually he turned $1 to $20K, not $1K to $20K.
He told that story a few days ago at the bustout bounty bonanza (yes, iīm a railbird that likes watching pros playing and chatting, especially Ferguson and Lederer), and he said that he did that some years ago before FTP existed. He started playing 0.01/0.02 NLHE and it took him a few months to reach the 20K.
Now he has another challenge: he wants to turn $0 into $1K as soon as possible, and thatīs why you can see him now playing freerolls.

This is great Nick. I love this kind of stuff. Is there any other places we can get audio files of the pros? I would love to hear more!

I hope to do this before he does . I've turned a $2.50 freeroll winning on titan into my current bankroll of almost $100. I'm doing it with limit games and heads up sng's, so I have broken the bankroll management rules he uses several times. Although I did have to "borrow" $20 dollars from my bank account in order to get the money away from titan and into a serious site where I could play some higher limits in full ringside games.

I made $11 off of a CC freeroll
I've now turned it into $3 short of $600 without putting one penny into my account
An accomplishment I'm very proud of...nothing close to Jesus' but great nonetheless

definitely an amazing feat...on top of the fact that he did it at micro limits!!!?
i would have liked to see him play
i'm sure he had won nearly every pot he entered; playing limits that low and winning the 20k in such a small time too

Thats pretty crazy.....To have the patience especially when you're a millionaire to play at 1 cent/2 cent tables is outstanding.

Harrd to believe though!

I wanted to bump this up because I'm actually trying to do this right now at Party Poker. I wanted to see if anyone else is doing or would consider trying to do this with me and post results on a topic we could start up.

I would encourage people to do this because it really helps you improve your patience and discipline. It can also be very maddening when some twit who knows nothing about poker beats you with BS luck.

Currently I'm up about $60 dollars in two weeks. Unlike Jesus, I didn't start with a dollar (because Party Poker has a 5 dollar min to play at micro tables) I began with about $120 and strictly adhere to the 5% of your BR on the line at any one game.

If people are interested, please reply and I'll start something up for all of us to track our results!!!

I'm not familiar with all the lingo used in the interview so I'm slightly confused. He bought in for 10c in no limit and played multiple tables at once. This means he was playing sit n go's right?

i'm not sure exactly what you're talkin about, wsorbust but what he did was deposited $1 and turned it into over $20000 by playing micro limits

i re-played it and see what you mean, wsorbust.
What he meant was that he bought in for the minimum, and apparantly at FT the minimum at a 1c/2c table was 10c. He said he would sit in, starting at the BB and play a round until the BB got back to him, and if he didn't double up he would leave and try another table.

ic. that makes sense...except for the fact that he says he plays to win the table...which is impossible if he's not doing a sit and go or tournament right?

...you don't buy into a table unless it's a tourn or sitngo...right? I have no experience playing with real money. . . as you can tell .lol

Bringing money to a cash table is considered buying-in as well as far as I know.

It's not impossible if his goal is to break every player at the table i.e., take all their cash.

And Freak's right too, you do buy-in at a cash game as well.

lol that would be a fun experience to play a micro with him for a session...
wonder what kind of style he used?
starting with $1 i'm sure he used the all in with any solid hand at first with so little to play with

na. it still doesn't make sense to me . He can't go in to a 10c table because the avg pots are always over $1.

Congrats Cruiser, that is a a great job!!! I believe that Chris states in his original video that he only played premium hands....I could be off on that though.

I am trying a similar challenge - since I am an amatuer, I gave myself a $10 head start - it is my own $10 to $10,000 Challenge. I am following Chris Ferguson's rules and I blog my progress at $10 to $10,000 Poker Bankroll Challenge

Managed to get my freeroll balance up to $26 from zero decided to have a go at the ring cash games on FTP.
Made a gradual increase to $38 and got cocky, decided they were all fish and played like i was the pro, my balance now stands at 4 cents.
Lesson to me, respect other players and play within you abilities. Also stay away from ring games and with tournaments with entry $2 or less.
Even at lower limits there are one or two good players at the ring cash games.
