Carbon Poker TIME clarification
Carbon poker's clock is kept on Greenwich Mean Time minus 6 year-round. Therefore, tournament listings and such correspond to Central Daylight Time in the Summer, but will correspond to Eastern Standard Time in the Winter. It's confusing and I wish they would join all the other poker sites and stick with the seasonal Eastern times OR have an adjustable clock option in their software. But they don't, so when you see their tourney listings, you have to make the conversion. If you're in the Eastern zone and daylight time is in effect and the tourney says 11:00, you add an hour, so it really starts at 12:00. Here is their post to me:

Probably the least confusing method would be for all poker sites to use straightforward GMT, and for us users to then apply an adjustment according to where we are on the globe.
I have accounts at numerous sites. Some use GMT, some use Eastern, some use UK time, some use Central European, and so on. It`s a complete mess. As far as I can see, the only site which has any logical reason to use a regional clock is Svenska Spel, since all their players are from one country. Every other site has an international membership, and should therefore logically use the international standard GMT. |

betsson and bodog shows your places time as default too. i played just a few games at carbon poker but i asked to players and they said there is no way to mute that irritating chip sounds. if programmers and site owners read forums, they can do much better
