Bodog Poker Help

Alright so here's the deal.

Im 18,and started playing poker last year and thinking about trying to play for real money on bodog, since I like their interface.

So here's the thing

My mom (Leave me alone....) Is not too keen on the idea of online gambling, and I need to know how hard it would be to deposit. I'd have to ask her, and she would probably let me try like 20 bucks at it if it was something that was:

A. Completely safe. If its only "sorta safe" I wont do it.

B. Easy to do.

Also, it says that USA plays can deposit directly from their credit card but I thought that was illegal. I live in Connecticut.

So any info you have would be help great.

Technically, I dont think its illegal to deposit with a credit card, its just that a lot of the companies dont let you deposit. It's 100% safe to do, the easy to do part I couldnt tell you though because I have never deposited on there

If you're 18 why the hell aren't you using your own money?

It doesn't matter if your mom doesn't like it if you:

a) Have a job and money of your own.

b) Pay your own bills.

And it's perfectly safe, if you stick to the big, well known sites. I personally haven't deposited at Bodog since Neteller shutdown in the US market. I would recommend Poker Stars for your first deposit. Much less hassle, imo, and you can use an All Access Visa giftcard for depositing.

Oh, and did I mention Stars is far and away superior in every way to Bodog? Just my opinion of course, but it's also true.

re: Bodog Poker Help

I started my Bodog account early last year with $20.I used my debit card and it went right through.Don't know if it still will, but is worth a shot.

I think this is a good place to start for a beginner. The skill level is far less then that of PS or the other major sites. Also they have beginner SNG's that pay 5 out of 10 players that start at $2.20.

I would have given you a thumbs up before today, cause I like the interface and the talent there seems a little better for me (I'm a beginner). I did an initial deposit of 20 and have made a bit of money, then today I was playing in an Omaha 8B, in a pot 1/5 the size of my whole BR and about to go all in and scoop the pot when all the buttons go dead and I'm told that bodog has a software problem and I need to restart the software. I close it out and try again, no dice, all the while time is running out. I try several other times and nothing, so nothing works and my hand is folded, customer service tells me I'm shit out of luck when i asked to have a credit to my account....so if i were you I would start somewhere else, very very strongly advise this.
