Add the Wynn Las Vegas to the list of casinos that will host a tournament series this fall, as the usual plethora of festivals will spring up alongside the World Series of Poker.

Ryan Beauregard, executive director of poker operations at the Wynn, told CardsChat on Wednesday that the casino’s poker room “will certainly run an event concurrent with the World Series of Poker, like we always do.” The WSOP will take place at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino on Sept. 30-Nov. 23, moved from its normal summer slot due to COVID-19 concerns.

Wynn just wrapped up its Wynn Summer Classic, with Andrew Moreno taking down the final event, a $10,000 buy-in tournament with a $10 million guarantee called the Wynn Millions. Moreno scored nearly $1.5 million for the victory.

There’s no word yet if that kind of money can be won this fall at the Las Vegas Strip property. Beauregard told CardsChat that it will likely be another four to six weeks before the Wynn is ready to release more details. “Currently we’re working on the schedule,” he said. “We had to wait until we finished the summer event first.”

Golden Nugget previously announced plans to host an event from Sept. 28-Oct. 18, but hasn’t released its schedule yet. Orleans poker room manager Rob Moore previously told CardsChat that the casino will hold a tournament series concurrent with the World Series of Poker. Details will likely come in August.

The Venetian has historically held one of its Deep Stack Extravaganza series in the fall, as well.
