The World Championship will bring the WPT’s 20th anniversary season to a glittering conclusion, but the celebrations will continue into 2023 thanks to a new partnership with Texapoker.

True to its name, the World Poker Tour has partnerships with operators around the globe. The latest one sees the company join forces with France’s leading live tournament operator, Texapoker.

The WPT has been running events in France since 2003, most notably at the famous Aviation Club in Paris. Now, alongside Texapoker, it will host a new series of WPT Prime events in France and other parts of Western Europe.

WPT launches new events in collaboration with Texapoker

The partnership with Texapoker not only strengthens the WPT’s love affair with France, it rekindles an old relationship with Apo Chantzis. The chairman and CEO of Texapoker has collaborated with the WPT multiple times over the last 11 years and now, through his organization, he’s spearheading a new series.

WPT Prime will initially have three stops in Western Europe, two in France and one in Italy:

  • Jan. 22 – Feb. 5, 2023: WPT Prime Paris – Club Circus Paris, France
  • Jun. 5-11, 2023: WPT Prime Sanremo – Casinò di Sanremo – Sanremo, Italy
  • Oct. 9-15, 2023: WPT Prime Aix-en-Provence – Pasino Grand – Aix-en-Provence, France

Event winners will not only get cash prizes and WPT titles but a seat in the 2023 World Championship. The partnership also sees a new series of WPT satellites added to Texapoker’s online partner site, PMU.fr.

World of European opportunities for WPT

One of the most compelling aspects of the two-year partnership is Texapoker’s status in France. The company was founded in 2008 and, since then, it’s forged links with 15 poker rooms.

This network of live poker partners means Texapoker can organize more than 80 festivals and 300 tournaments each year. The WPT now has access to this network and, in turn, an influential partner with enough resources to host events of all sizes.

“Even amidst an incredible 20th-anniversary season, we are preparing for our progression into 2023. Partnering with Texapoker provides us with a wonderful opportunity to return the WPT brand to the French market,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska.

Three WPT Prime events mark the start of the partnership, but there will be more opportunities for the companies to collaborate in the next two years. That means poker players in Europe will have even more live tournament action to enjoy in 2023 and 204.
