While the poker world is focused on the 2017 World Series of Poker, Viktor Blom has been quietly tearing it up online under his famous“Isildur1” moniker. He was June’s biggest online winner after banking $1,142,745 in 38,038 hands spread across 132 sessions.
Viktor Blom vs. “RaulGonzalez”
Viktor Blom’s heater came at the expense of “RaulGonzalez,” whom he relieved of over $1 million playing $1,000/$2,000 8-Game on PokerStars since the end of June. After a weeklong break, the duo returned to the virtual felt last Wednesday and RaulGonzalez set about repairing the damage.
It took him nine and a half hours, but eventually RaulGonzalez gained back $95,051. This past weekend, the two added in some $1,000/$2,000 2-7 Triple Draw and $200/$400 pot-limit Omaha. Blom pulled out to an early $250,000 lead in the match, but by the end of the day RaulGonzalez recouped it all plus an additional $120,000.
Blom also found a little time to play PLO against “ubersherms,” and on June 21 the two played the biggest pot of the month. It began when ubersherms ($77,919) raisd to $1,200 on the button and then called a three-bet to $3,600 from Blom ($114,576). When the flop came down 6♣A♠5♠, Blom continued for $4,800, ubersherms called, and the 7♣ appeared on the turn.
The former Full Tilt Pro bet again, this time $12,800, and ubersherms called to see the 4♥ river. Blom slowed down with a check, ubersherms bet $21,200, and Blom woke up with an all-in check-raise.
Ubersherms called off his remaining $35,319 holding an eight-high straight with the 8♣7♠A♦K♥, but it was no good as Blom was pushed the $155,438 pot holding a nine-high straight with the 8♥9♣3♥Q♣.

One Outer on the Turn
Viktor Blom’s decision to skip the WSOP in favor of online action, the same decision he made back in 2014, has proven to be a profitable one. However, where there are winners there are also losers. In June, no one dropped more than Blom’s nemesis, RaulGonzalez, who lost $563,139 in 29,033 hands over 47 sessions.
In one particularly brutal loss, the game was $200/$400 PLO when Blom ($57,834.85) raised to $1,360 from the button with the 10♦3♦6♣3♠ and RaulGonzalez ($86,501.02) defended with the 9♠9♥J♠2♠. The 9♦2♥3♣ flop gave both players a set, and RaulGonzalez checked the better one.
Blom bet $2,000, RaulGonzalez called, and the 3♥ turn gave the Swede quads. RaulGonzalez checked for a second time and Blom bet $5,600. RaulGonzalez check-raised to $12,830.80, Blom just called, and the 10♠ completed the board on the river.
RaulGonzalez bet $24,403.95 with his full house and then called when Viktor Blom moved all in for $41,644.05. Unfortunately for RaulGonzalez, he watched the $115,589 pot pushed to his opponent thanks to the one outer on the turn.
The other big loser of the month was Sami “Lrslzk” Kelopuro, who was down $321,775 in just 3,471 hands. That averages out to losing $92.70 per hand played.
