Best of Las Vegas has been handing out awards to local businesses each year since 2001. Among the categories voted on are casinos, restaurants, banks, entertainment, health and beauty, and also schools.

In the casino category, “best poker room” is the one that matters most to us here at CardsChat — for obvious reasons. That award went to Sheldon Adelson’s property. The Venetian poker room is one of the largest in town with more than 30 card tables. Many poker pros refuse to play at this Las Vegas Strip casino due to its affiliation with Adelson, a proponent of banning online poker in the US.

Venetian is one of the most well-rounded card rooms around. Even during COVID-19, you’ll find many types of cash games and tournaments inside this spacious poker room. The poker hotspot is known for its regular Deepstack Series tournaments, which feature low to mid-stakes events and huge guaranteed prize pools. Cash game pros also enjoy the wide range of games offered, mostly low to mid-stakes No-Limit Hold’em, but also some mixed games and Pot-Limit Omaha.

Venetian Poker Room Takes Home the Gold

The Venetian poker room and The Orleans switched spots on the Best of Las Vegas list this year. Last year, Orleans took the top spot while Venetian received a silver medal. Venetian also took down a plethora of additional awards, including Best Romantic Spot and Best Strip Hotel.

The Best of Las Vegas awards are often criticized by locals, and many residents laugh at the idea that these awards should be taken seriously. While many locals don’t take these awards seriously, the free marketing is invaluable, especially when it comes to luring in tourists.

Some locals don’t even believe the voting for these awards is legit. Perhaps, Rudy Giuliani will take Best of Las Vegas to court to prove voter fraud. Then again, maybe that isn’t such a good idea given his track record of repeatedly losing such cases.

Fake votes or not, the Venetian poker room is among the best in Las Vegas. Outside of those who despise Adelson with a passion, you’ll find few local poker pros who disagree. Other card rooms that didn’t make the top three, but probably should have, include Bellagio and Aria.

In case you’re wondering, the Adult Superstore shipped gold in the Adult Store category. The massive pleasure palace is a stone’s throw from The Orleans, runner-up for Best Poker Room in Las Vegas. So, you can flop the nuts and then walk across the street to …. yeah, we’re not going to finish that punchline here.
