Club WPT will hold a special bounty tourney featuring its ambassador Doyle Brunson on May 20, at 8 p.m. ET.

The winner gets a $2,500 WPT Prime Championship Passport they could use at any WPT event, and will have a meet-and-greet with Brunson at the WPT Prime Championship at Wynn Las Vegas in December.

“Doyle has done so much for the poker community throughout his career,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “We are honored to have him as a part of the WPT family, and to witness his continued impact on the game.”

Players finishing second through 27th win part of a $2,500 bounty pool, and all players in the top 100 receive a copy of the soon-to-be-released audio book “The Godfather of Poker,” narrated by Brunson, 89, himself.

Club WPT is a subscription-based online poker room. More information can be found here.

Police swarm New York casino

A casino in upstate New York was the victim of a swatting call that caused a mass evacuation and an intense police response on May 4. First, someone called in a bomb threat to Arkwesasne Mohawk Casino, and then shortly after, called 911 to report there was a mass shooter.

“The national trend of ‘swatting calls’ places significant danger to our community and our officers; we take every precaution when responding to these incidents,” Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal police Chief Matthew Rourke told a local news station.

He said the call came outside the United States.

A’s change Las Vegas plans

The Oakland A’s are coming to Las Vegas and will build a stadium where the Tropicana now stands. It was initially reported that the stadium would be built at Tropicana Avenue and Dean Martin Drive.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the A’s entered an agreement with Bally’s Corp. to build a $1.5 billion, 30,000-seat ballpark on the site of the 1950s casino and hotel. The partnership with Bally’s will lower the stadium’s  public funding cost from $500 million to $395 million.

The $1.5 billion, 30,000-seat ballpark will have a retractable roof. The A’s, which have the blessing of Major League Baseball to move, expect to begin play in Las Vegas in 2027.
