The PokerStarsUSA Twitter account told players all multi-table tournaments have been canceled until Monday because of “unscheduled maintenance.” As of Saturday at 1 p.m., no cash games or tournaments were being spread.

According to Downdetector, a site that keeps track of online outages, reports that the site went down started flowing in around 12:40 p.m. Friday. The SNAFU affects PokerStars’ casinos and sportsbooks, too.

Even if the techs manage to get cash games up and running soon, the blackout wipes off a full slate of “Sunday Major” tournaments in all three markets. PokerStars made the call to cancel all the weekend tournaments Friday afternoon.

PokerStars has done a terrible job of keeping it customer base informed. The notice posted by their staff says, “We’ll be right back…”. Since that was not true, and they knew they would be down for a few days, they should have states that up front. We are intelligent adult people capable of handling the truth.
