Dzivielevski, aka theNERDguy, is not only the top-ranked online tournament player in Brazil, but in the world at large. He currently has more than $14 million in online earnings, as well as a host of major titles to his name. His latest achievement is a place on Team Partypoker alongside some of the game’s other greats, including Patrick Leonard and Isaac Haxton.

From home games to world #1

Like many who have gone on to become poker legends, Dzivielevski started playing home games with friends. From there, he found a niche online and, just after leaving high school, was in a position where he could play full time. However, unlike most players, building a bankroll wasn’t Dzivielevski’s only aim.

He was using poker as a means of supporting his parents. That strategy clearly earned Dzivielevski some good karma points as he quickly rose up the ranks to become one of the best players in Latin America.

WCOOP titles and WSOP bracelets soon followed and, today, he has more than $15 million in tournament earnings in both live and online play. Interestingly, Dzivielevski has picked up the majority of his wins on PokerStars and Natural8.

He’s won more than $11 million on those two sites and just under $300,000 on Partypoker. However, as the latest member of Team Partypoker, he’ll be spending a lot more time on the site. His first order of business as a new Party ambassador will be playing in the ongoing WPT World Online Championships. He’ll be playing under his official Team Partypoker moniker, Yuri theNERDguy.

Partypoker using pros to increase MTT appeal

Dzivielevski will also be a regular on Partypoker’s Twitch channel. In addition to contributing to the existing schedule of shows, he will also be creating his own exclusive content. Although he’s yet to say what type of content he’ll produce, Partypoker has confirmed that fans will be able to watch Dzivielevski stream his tournament sessions.

Dzivielevski has called it a “dream come true” to sign for Partypoker and one of the “biggest achievements” of his career. For fans, it will also be a dream come true as they get to watch the world’s number one MTT pro do his thing on Twitch, for free.

Dzivielevski’s relationship with Partypoker should extend beyond the basics of wearing a patch and streaming a few tournaments on Twitch. Team Partypoker members Haxton and Leonard regularly consult with the operator’s executives about all matters pertaining to the site.

CardsChat recently spoke to Leonard about the WPT Online Championships and he told us he’s pushing for more seven-max MTTs on Partypoker. This pro-driven strategy has helped Partypoker become a much bigger player on the MTT scene over the past three years.

Adding Dzivielevski to its roster of pros is another positive move in this regard and a move that could open more doors for Partypoker in Latin America.
