One of the best finishes to the month at the high-stakes tables on PokerStars went to famed online pro Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, who booked back-to-back winning sessions for more than $100,000 in the last two days. It was enough to bring him into the top 10 for online poker winners, yet provided just a taste of the exciting action witnessed by fans all month.

Monster October Pots

No one did better playing high-stakes cash games on PokerStars in October that Carlo “Ravenswood13” van Ravensoud, who played 7,888 hands across 106 sessions. During that time, he profited $322,147, or $40.84 per hand.

Coming in second with $201,858 in profit was Russia’s Timofey “Trueteller” Kuznetsov, who actually won the third-biggest pot of the month. It happened back on October 6 in a game of $100/$200 pot-limit Omaha when action was heads up between Kuznetsov ($47,750.25) and Sami “Lrslzk” Kelopuro ($50,162.73).

It began when Kelopuro raised to $680 on the button holding the K♥K♣2♣A♥ and Kuznetsov popped it to $2,120 holding the A♦10♦Q♥8♠. Not to be outdone, Kelopuro four-bet to $6,440 and Kutznetsov just called to see the J♥Q♦4♣ flop.

Kuznetsov checked and then moved all in for $41,310.25 after Kelopuro had bet $12,957. A call was made and the two agreed to run it twice. Kuznetsov, who had flopped top pair, needed help to crack the kings of Kelopuro, and he got it on both run outs as the 8♥ and Q♣ on the first gave him a full boat, and the A♠ and 6♦ on the second top two pair. With that, Kuznetsov scooped the $95,660.50 pot.

The biggest online poker cash game pot in October came back on Friday the 13th win a game of $200/$400 NLHE.

Action was heads-up between “donthnrmeepls” ($100,000) and “wilhasha” ($87,282.82) when the former simply moved all in and the latter called. The A♣Q♣ of “donthnrmeepls” was ahead of “wilhasha’s” K♦8♥, and it held after the board ran out 6♣10♠J♠7♦5♠. Ship the $174,565 pot to “donthnrmeepls.”

No Treats for Kelopuro

On the other end of the online poker spectrum, Kelopuro finished the month as the biggest loser, dropping $494,941 in 10,609 hands across 142 sessions. That meant he lost an average of $46.65 per hand.

Others who failed to finish in the black were Ronny “1-ronnyr3” Kaiser, who lost $174,588, and 2017 World Series of Poker $50,000 Poker Players Championship winner Elior “Crazy Elior” Sion, who only played 13 sessions but still dropped $123,405.

Speaking of Kaiser, he was on the bad end of the month’s second-largest pot, which took place at a five-handed $50/$100 PLO table back on October 3.

It began when “JayP-AA” ($62,728.44) looked down at the 8♠10♣7♣8♦ under the gun and Kaiser ($49,248.50), who was next to act, made it $1,600 to go with the 10♠10♥8♥9♠.

The other three players folded and “JayP-AA” called to see the 5♦7♥K♣ flop. “JayP-AA” checked, Kaiser bet $1,894.75, and “JayP-AA” check-raised to $6,320.63. Kaiser called and then called a bet of $9,064.70 on the 6♣ turn.

When the A♣ completed the board on the river, “JayP-AA” bet it all with his flush, and Kaiser called off his remaining $32,263.17 with a straight to create a $98,847 pot.
