The World Series of Poker Circuit Series schedule in the first five months of 2023 is dense. With 14 individual live series added to a fistful that will take place online, the lead-up to the 2023 WSOP in Las Vegas will be fast, furious, and frenetic.

It all starts this week in Oklahoma

The WSOP returns to Choctaw Casino in Oklahoma this week with its first Circuit series of 2023.

Starting Wednesday with a $300 no-limit hold’em Monster stack with a $50K guaranteed prize pool, the series will pack in 16 events until Jan. 17.

The $1,700 Main Event starts next Thursday. It has a $1.5 million prize pool guarantee and three starting flights Jan. 12, 13, and 14. Last January, Quan Tran won $338K in its $1,700 Main Event, which had 1,411 entries. The local player from Dallas nearly won his second ring in the Main Event at the very next WSOP Circuit held at Choctaw in July when he finished second.

Players looking for value will want to play in “The Gargantuan,” a $300K guaranteed $500 buy-in event with two starting flights in consecutive days: Thursday, Jan. 5, and Friday, Jan. 6. Like most WSOP Circuit events, re-entry is unlimited until the end of level 12.

Also on Friday’s schedule is the first of two flights for “The Twilight,” a $100K guaranteed $300 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that starts at 6 p.m. The second flight begins the next day, also in the evening.

A second senior’s event (the first starts Jan. 9), closes the series on Jan. 17.

Other series highlights include a two-flight $400 event called “the Classic,” which has a $100K guaranteed prize-pool. Its first two flights are on Jan. 10 and 11.

The $130 ladies event begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8. It’s the earliest starting time for the series (most tourneys begin at noon).

All winners get a WSOP ring and entry into the $1 million Tournament of Champions freeroll that will close the WSOP in Las Vegas this summer. The entire schedule is found here.

Fully loaded until May

From there, the WSOP Circuit spreads like wildfire, starting with many of its usual stops like Thunder Valley Casino in North California (Jan. 12-23), Horseshoe Tunica in Mississippi (Jan. 19-30), and Isle of Capri in Florida (Feb. 2-13).

The first WSOP event to take place in the newly rebranded Horseshoe Las Vegas runs from Feb. 9-20. The only stop in the northeast is at Turning Stone Casino in upstate New York from March 16-27. The final Circuit series of 2022-23 season takes place May 11-22 at Caesars Indiana, which the WSOP called a “heritage” stop.

The 2022-23 season already has a dozen Circuit series in the books. The season runs from July to May, divided by the big mama WSOP in Las Vegas that ends with the Tournament of Champions.

A series a month at WSOP.com

Those lucky enough to live in or near New Jersey, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Michigan will have plenty of chances to win a ring from the comfort of their homes online.

The first set of online Circuit events begins Friday, Jan. 6, on WSOP.com. With buy-ins starting at $109, it gives players a dozen chances (in each of the three markets) a shot at the ring and entry into the TOC.

Look for WSOP.com to spread at least one Circuit series a month until it begins its run of online bracelet events in late May/early June.

Internationally, GGPoker recently wrapped up its WSOP Winter Circuit series, and you could surely bet that there will be a more scheduled in the next couple months.
